Assessment Associates at Success Academy are central to the high-performing, data-driven school culture we use to set our students up for success. The role takes a deep, holistic understanding of our school model, testing standards and ethics. It also relies on sharp project planning, logistics and executional skills. The critical student achievement data Assessment Associates deliver is critical for our instructional team to be able to diagnose strengths and gaps in student achievement, create strong educational plans, and help students and families get the special education services they need.
Key responsibilities include:
Coordinate Assessment and Academic Logistics:
Execute all logistics (materials, timing, space, etc.) for seamless, accurate administration of assessments;
Support faculty and instructional leaders with the systems we use to administer our online assessments;
Prepare and distribute assessment materials;
Maintain integrity in security protocols & administration guidelines during administration of assessments;
Ensure assessment data is accurately entered into our Student Information System (SIS).
Maintain Data Systems:
Master the capabilities and reporting functions of our SIS, and train others;
Ensure internal academic data in our SIS is entered accurately and on time;
Maintain rostering data in internal and external data management systems for accurate, consistent records;
Foster consistent growth in adult practice, student achievement, and parent investment through reports and analyses;
Establish a culture of transparency and clear communication around student performance and progress within our school community.
Ideal candidates have:

Position Summary
The Fieldston Lower School (Riverdale Campus) is seeking experienced classroom teachers who are available on an on-call basis to serve as substitute teachers for grades PreK-5th, as well as enrichment classes in physical education, science, Spanish, music, ethics, and arts. The ideal candidates will have strong classroom management skills, familiarity with hands-on teaching practices, relevant experience with elementary school students, and the ability to teach multiple subjects.
Substitutes are needed for half day, full day, and extended subbing schedules throughout the school year. The rate for a substitute is $25.00 per hour.
Please note that this is an onsite role and not performed remotely. Ethical Culture Fieldston School retains its right to modify job duties in accordance with changing operational needs.
Responsibilities
Specific responsibilities of the Substitute will include:
Teaching classes based on a specific lesson plan in an engaging manner;
Appropriately addressing student behavioral issues and other challenges that may arise in the classroom in order to maintain a safe environment and a sense of calm in such situations;
Providing encouragement to students to help support their social and emotional growth;
Leaving notes for the returning teacher based on the day's instruction;
Performing other related projects and duties as needed and assigned.

In partnership with the University of Pennsylvania's Graduate School of Education (GSE), Riverdale seeks to hire a Penn Fellow in the Computer Science Department for a two-year position. The fellow will teach a reduced course load in the Middle and Upper School while taking graduate classes and pursuing a Master's degree at Penn GSE.
An ideal candidate is interested in growing the computer science program for students to address real problems with an understanding of the ways technology intersects with society. Our courses use a variety of hardware and programming languages including micro:bit, Arduino, block-based coding, JavaScript, Processing/p5.js, Python, C-based languages, and R; applicants should already be comfortable with a few of these languages and willing to expand their knowledge. In addition, the fellow will have the opportunity to assist with various extracurricular activities and programs such as Robotics, Girls Who Code, Rocketry, and Build-a-Ware.
We are seeking a fellow who would intentionally use their teaching practice to build and sustain an inclusive learning environment for all students, meeting the needs of students across a range of academic abilities and identities. Since some of our programs are middle school focused, applicants should be comfortable working with students in grades 6-8.
Applicants should possess a Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university preferably in a computer science, engineering, math or technology-related field. We are also excited to hear from applicants with a degree in a different field and significant programming experience.

Position Overview and Responsibilities:
Associate Teachers at Riverdale are individuals who are in the early stages of their careers as educators. These educators may remain in the role for up to a maximum of three years. Associate Teachers work alongside a Head Teacher and play an important role in the experience of our students and colleagues.
In Spanish, Associate Teachers are predominantly involved in supporting students through small group instruction. In doing so, they provide additional support to help students access the target language and also differentiate instruction based on the level of Spanish language development of students. On occasion, they also have the opportunity to lead full-group lessons as well. As full-time faculty members, Associate Teachers are also members of the Spanish team and engage in frequent collaboration related to planning, instruction, and assessment directly connected to student learning.
In addition to the intensive and hands-on teaching experience, Associate Teachers also receive ongoing professional development. These opportunities are geared toward strengthening foundational teaching practices as well as supporting individuals in their pursuit of future career opportunities. Associate Teachers may remain at Riverdale a maximum of three years and are supported in their pursuit of other opportunities beyond their time at the school.
Required Qualifications:
Faculty members are expected to engage in all aspects of work with an open mind, a positive disposition, and a commitment to collaboration. Additionally, Riverdale seeks candidates who are dedicated to supporting a diverse and inclusive community. A minimum of a Bachelor's Degree is required for the position. Preference is given to those who have experience working with younger learners and have completed coursework in a related field of study.
Compensation Range:
The salary range for this position is based on our Associate Teacher salary scale.
