    North Suffolk is looking for a Recovery Coach to join our Recovery on the Harbor team! The Recovery Coach is a person who is grounded in peer-assisted recovery. Because of his/her life experience with substance use and/ or other addictions, the recovery coach provides expertise that clinical training cannot replicate. Recovery coaches report to Director of Recovery and are fully integrated team members who provide support to the East Boston community . Recovery coaches also provide essential expertise and consultation to the agency to promote a culture in which recoverees' points of view and preferences are recognized, understood, respected and integrated into support, treatment, rehabilitation, and community-based recovery-oriented systems of care. This position requires you to work some nights and weekends as needed. Full-Time 36 Hours/week split between two programs. What you'll do: Provide ongoing, personalized recovery coaching that focuses on strengths, goal-setting, skill-building, and relapse prevention. Support recoverees in developing and implementing individualized wellness and recovery plans, reviewing regularly, and incorporating peer-driven techniques and motivational strategies. Assist the City of Cambridge Department of Public Health and community stakeholders with brief interventions to engage individuals presenting with Substance Use Disorder. Promote a recovery-oriented environment emphasizing recoveree empowerment, cultural competency, and recoveree-driven recovery pathways. Support organizational efforts to embed peer support into all levels of care. Foster effective communication with collateral contacts such as probation officers, therapists, family members, and sponsors (with valid release of information). Advocate for the recoveree's needs within the treatment and service continuum. Work a flexible schedule to meet the needs of recoverees and program. Attend all required trainings within prescribed timelines. All other duties as assigned. What you'll need: Education: Bachelors, GED or High School Diploma with work experience with adults diagnosed with substance use and/or dependency OR a Bachelor's degree in a related field Experience: Knowledge and experience of the addiction treatment service system, recovery coaching and other related human services, Two years of sustained recovery. Skills: Certified Addictions Recovery Coach (CARC) certification preferred. Bilingualism in Spanish is strongly preferred!
