In 1921, Harry J. Suits, Sr. and two friends formed a road construction company named Bolton, Suits and Gibbs.
In 1958, Harry J. Suits, Sr. passed away leaving behind a tremendous legacy and a successful business enterprise to his two sons, Harry “Bud” Suits, Jr. and Frank H. Suits, Sr.
The company continued its managed growth and in 1961 Frank Suits, Sr. decided to move to Cortland, NY to create a new asphalt business named Cortland Asphalt Products.
In 1980, all of the Suits family interests were consolidated under one name, thus Suit-Kote Corporation was born.
Suit-Kote has always placed a tremendous amount of importance on product quality and development, thus, it was a natural fit when Suit-Kote acquired McConnaughay Technologies in 1992.
In 1993, Frank Suits, Jr. became President of Suit-Kote Corporation.
