Description of Job: Utilize optimal procurement processes to maintain the material flow of non-inventory materials and services to ensure minimal interruptions in manufacturing and R&D and follow the concept of the Delegation of Authority (DOA) policy's role in compliance. Coordinates activities involved with procuring goods, services and supplies for the organization by performing the following duties.
Principal Responsibilities:
Process expense purchase orders from requisitions for all VBS/ Sumitomo Biorational Company LLC locations, helping to improve and promote the process across all locations.
Help coordinate new vendor creation with suppliers and the Finance group.
Proactively and systematically expedite material from suppliers. Effectively communicate to all internal customers. Provide accurate delivery dates.
Enter purchase order confirmation including correct pricing. Run and maintain a daily and weekly confirmation report.
Communicate effectively to external suppliers to ensure OTD. Monitor, evaluate and work with suppliers to improve performance.
Investigate and respond to vendor invoice pricing discrepancies, supporting AP.
Help categorize Indirect spend across all VBS/ Sumitomo Biorational Company LLC locations to identify efficiencies and cost savings opportunities.
Participate in SR/RFP/RFQ process for key Indirect spend categories through Ariba.
Participate in Sourcing activities for indirect materials as needed.
Incorporate sustainability measures (Ecovadis) into indirect procurement process, inviting suppliers to participate in the EcoVadis program.
Ability to read and interpret MRP signals in SAP and place inventory purchase orders as needed to provide back-up for the Inventory Buyer.
Maintain and close out blanket and open purchase orders in Procurement department for all indirect/direct items for all plants.
Provide feedback to AP and Vendor set up team for Active Vendors in Procurement department for all indirect/direct items for all plants.
Run PO confirmation and PO late reports to identify non confirmed and past due purchase orders.
Implementing Indirect programs

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Demonstrated expertise using SAP, Ariba or other MRP environment is preferred.
Ability to handle multiple deadlines in a changing environment with a sense of urgency.

General Description
Responsible for monitoring, detecting, responding to, and remediating security threats across Valent USA and Sumitomo Biorational Company's (SBC) technology landscape. Ensures the continuous operation and improvement of security tools, automates security workflows, and supports the implementation of security controls across on-premises and cloud environments. Security Monitoring, Detection, and Response
Operate and tune security monitoring platforms including SIEM, endpoint detection and response (EDR), identity protection, email security, and cloud security tools.
Triage and investigate security alerts, determine root cause, and take appropriate containment and remediation actions in coordination with internal and external teams.
Support incident response activities following defined procedures, including incident logging, escalation, containment, eradication, recovery, and lessons learned.
Collaborate with the Security Operations Manager and managed security services provider (MSSP) to refine detection rules, correlation logic, and incident escalation procedures.
Security Tool Engineering and Automation
Configure, maintain, and improve security tools to ensure optimal performance and coverage.

Technical Competencies

General Description:
This role serves as a technical resource and network engineer within the IT Operations team, supporting both the IT Service Desk and Infrastructure sub-teams. The position is responsible for designing, maintaining, and troubleshooting all company networks across office locations and datacenters in North America, including cloud and virtual networking environments. It also contributes to resolving Service Desk and Infrastructure tickets that involve network or related technical issues.
The engineer provides both on-site and remote support while developing network-related architectural designs for IT systems and applications. This includes work involving switches, routers, firewalls, cloud platforms (AWS), laptops, desktops, servers in both on-premises and cloud environments, printers, networks, peripherals, and vendor-supported software. The role maintains and creates all network diagrams and documentation related to the company's IT infrastructure.
In addition, this position leads networking-related infrastructure projects and initiatives, collaborating closely with the Enterprise Architect/Team Lead and the Senior Manager of IT Service Delivery and Operations. Overall, it combines the responsibilities of a network engineer with elements of an IT infrastructure engineer, with a strong emphasis on networking functions.

Required Skills/Experience:
Proven experience in network architecture, including the design, implementation, and support of large enterprise networks across on-premises, cloud (AWS), and hybrid environments
Hands-on expertise with enterprise-grade networking equipment, particularly Fortinet/Fortigate solutions
Background in SD-WAN technologies and internet backhauling
Skilled in deploying, managing, and maintaining virtual networking appliances
Strong, advanced knowledge of networking fundamentals, including subnetting

General Description: This position supports Sumitomo Chemical America, Inc. The incumbent will prepare federal, state, and local tax returns by examining accounts and records and developing clear and succinct supporting workpapers. Maintains tax accounting records, prepares routine and special tax reports including journal entries and financial statement disclosures, and provides usable guidance on tax matters to the business. The incumbent would remain updated on changing tax law and emerging issues in the field and be able to articulate how those changes would impact our business. The Tax Manager will act consistently with the mission of the VNA tax team to be a trusted partner to the business and will conduct all activities in compliance with all applicable laws and substantial authority.
Principal Responsibilities:
Prepare and/or manage tax provision calculations as required for IFRS and GAAP reporting requirements. Provide necessary documentation as required to financial statement auditors and SCC colleagues responsible for taxation and financial reporting matters.
Prepare and/or manage workpapers and support work to complete and file federal, state, and local income tax returns on an accurate and timely basis.
Along with the VNA tax team, represent SCAI and subsidiaries in audits and respond to other inquiries from federal, state, and local authorities.
In conjunction with the VNA Tax Director, prepare supporting workpapers and other documentation in support of our transfer pricing policies.
Responsible for supporting the timely filing and payment of all sales and use, excise, mill and property taxes as well as any necessary business licenses in scope.
Prepare work papers and provide other documents necessary for local advisors to prepare Canadian income tax returns. Work with local advisors on any matters relating to Canadian indirect and withholding taxes and ensure compliance.
Provide tax support and act as a business partner to the SCAI group as a whole and support as needed colleagues at Sumitomo Chemical Company (SCC) and other SCC group companies globally.
Qualifications:
BA/BS in Accounting, MBA or equivalent, with 5-10 years of related experience in a Public Accounting or large corporate tax department environment.
MS in Taxation (or the equivalent) and/or CPA preferred.
Proficiency in Excel and ability to analyze and manipulate data to create readily usable information required.
Proficiency with research tools such as Bloomberg or CCH.
Proficiency in Corptax and SAP desirable.

This role serves as a technical resource and network engineer within the IT Operations team, supporting both the IT Service Desk and Infrastructure sub-teams. The position is responsible for designing, maintaining, and troubleshooting all company networks across office locations and datacenters in North America, including cloud and virtual networking environments. It also contributes to resolving Service Desk and Infrastructure tickets that involve network or related technical issues.
The engineer provides both on-site and remote support while developing network-related architectural designs for IT systems and applications. This includes work involving switches, routers, firewalls, cloud platforms (AWS), laptops, desktops, servers in both on-premises and cloud environments, printers, networks, peripherals, and vendor-supported software. The role maintains and creates all network diagrams and documentation related to the company's IT infrastructure.

Monitors software licensing and provides periodic compliance reporting
Participates in CAB (Change Advisory Board) meetings and submits change requests for planned project work.
Provides hands-on L1, L2, and L3 IT support across both network-related and general infrastructure Service Desk requests as needed.
Utilizes ServiceNow to manage Service Desk tickets and consistently meet SLA commitments.
Ensures compliance with all SLAs, KPIs, uptime requirements, and Service Desk performance metrics

Required Skills/Experience:

Qualifications
Education and Experience

Position Summary
The Senior Director of Environmental, Health, Safety, Security, and Quality (EHSSQ) for Sumitomo Biorational Company LLC, provides strategic leadership and oversight for all programs under the intent of Responsible Care thus related to environmental stewardship, employee health and safety, regulatory compliance, and product quality across the company's biological and chemical research, development, and manufacturing operations.
This executive will establish and drive the company's EHSSQ vision to ensure compliance with global regulatory standards supporting the Sumitomo Responsible Care management system while promoting a culture of safety, quality, compliance, and continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic Leadership
Develop and execute the company's EHSSQ strategy aligned with corporate objectives and growth plans.
Serve as a trusted advisor and leader for reporting to executive leadership on EHSSQ risks, opportunities, and regulatory trends within the biorational group.
Accountable and responsible for the company to be in full alignment with Sumitomo Chemical Company's (parent company) responsible care strategy, including the parent company's responsible care audit program.
Integrate EHSSQ principles into all stages of product lifecycle, from R&D through manufacturing and commercialization.
Environmental, Health, Safety, and Security (EHSS) Management
Champion the implementation of environmental and occupational health programs that comply with federal, state, and international regulations (e.g., OSHA, EPA, CDC, NIH, and local biosafety guidelines).
Ensure robust biosafety and biosecurity programs for all laboratory and manufacturing operations, including compliance with BSL-1 to BSL-2 containment requirements as applicable.
Champion initiatives to reduce environmental impact, including waste minimization, water conservation, and sustainable energy use.
Promote a proactive safety culture through leadership visibility, employee engagement, and targeted training programs.
Ensure the adequacy of programs related to risk assessments, incident investigations, and corrective action implementation.
Quality Management
Provide strategic oversight of Quality Assurance (QA) and Quality Control (QC) programs to ensure compliance with GMP, GLP, GCP, and ISO standards.
Champion continuous improvement initiatives to enhance product consistency, reliability, and regulatory compliance.
Ensure the adequacy of programs related to internal and external audits, including those by the FDA, EMA, ISO registrars, and other regulatory bodies.
Collaborate with R&D, manufacturing, and supply chain teams to ensure quality integration across all business processes.
Maintain oversight of supplier quality and qualification programs to ensure integrity of raw materials and components.
Compliance and Risk Management
Ensure company-wide compliance with applicable EHSSQ laws, regulations, and industry standards.
Ensure the preparation and submission of all required environmental and regulatory reports.
Champion emergency preparedness, business continuity, and crisis management programs.
Accountable for data collection, reporting, and performance metrics to monitor EHSSQ effectiveness and continuous improvement.
People and Culture
Lead and mentor a multidisciplinary EHSSQ team across multiple research and production sites.
Build an organization-wide culture of accountability, transparency, and continuous learning.
Foster collaboration between quality, operations, supply chain, research, regulatory affairs, and commercial teams.
Qualifications
Education and Experience
Bachelor's degree in Biology, Biochemistry, Environmental Science, Industrial Hygiene, Chemical Engineering, or related discipline (Master's or Ph.D. preferred).
Minimum 20 years of progressive experience in EHSS and Quality roles within biotechnology, pharmaceuticals, or life sciences industries.
At least 5 years of executive or senior leadership experience managing multi-site EHSSQ functions.
Demonstrated success managing GMP-compliant manufacturing and biosafety programs.
Skills and Competencies
Deep understanding of FDA, EMA, ISO 9001/14001/45001, and other global regulatory frameworks.
Strong knowledge of biological and chemical hazard management, biosafety levels, and containment controls.
Proven ability to lead cross-functional teams and influence at all organizational levels.
Exceptional analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
Experience with digital EHSSQ management systems and data analytics preferred.
Performance Metrics
Full adherence to Sumitomo Chemical Company RC standards.
Reduction in safety incidents, environmental non-compliances, and audit observations.
Maintenance of chemical industry compliance as well as GMP/biosafety compliance across all facilities.
Continuous improvement in product quality metrics and right-first-time performance.
Positive trends in safety culture and employee engagement.
Successful execution of sustainability and operational excellence initiatives.
