Healthpeak Properties summer analyst job description

Our Summer Analysts will have the opportunity to participate in an 8 to 10 week internship program within Healthpeak's Investments team. The program will include the opportunity to learn the fundamentals of financial modeling, a crash course into valuation, research, and underwriting of investment opportunities, and base level understanding of the analytical framework required to make investment decisions in the life science and medical office asset types. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

* Assisting the Investment professionals in the performance of their day-to-day activities relating to the evaluation of new and existing investment decisions which may include acquisitions, dispositions, developments, redevelopments or structured transactions (joint ventures, real estate loans, etc.).
* Gathering and analyzing data and preparing reports as requested
* Performing underwriting analysis
* Developing an understanding of Argus cash flow forecasting
* Assisting in the construction of financial models
* Preparing ad hoc analyses for the senior investment professionals, which may include materials required for presentation to the Investment Committee or Board of Directors of Healthpeak
* Undertaking special projects as assigned.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS

* A target start in mid-June 2023, which will seek to align with candidates' academic calendar.
* Juniors (highly preferred) currently pursuing a Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university. Sophomore's will be consider on a case-by-case basis.
* Preferred majors include Finance, Accounting, Information Science, Economics or Real Estate or other fields or other majors / experience where the candidate can easily demonstrate quantitative analytical experience
* Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, etc.) with an emphasis on knowledge and experience with Excel.
* Strong written and oral communication skills, interpersonal skills, and ability to work with others.
* Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.

LOCATION REQUIREMENTS

This position will be based on a hybrid program (Two Days in Office Required/Three Days Flexible to Work Remote) in alignment with the corporate policy of Healthpeak prior to the commencement of the summer program. The prospective candidate must have access to a high speed internet connection, as well as cellular reception. Any summer analyst will be required to utilize video and audio communication devices at all times during the summer period.

The Program:

In the summer of 2023, we will welcome a cohort of exceptional, mission-driven Summer Analysts whose passion is to make the world a better place. These students will be juniors entering their senior year of college, with an expected graduation of December 2023-June 2024. Throughout the 10 paid weeks of the program, the Summer Analysts will be provided with mentorship from Schmidt Futures employees, on the job training, and a strong community through programming. This program is hybrid, and will require office attendance 3 days a week.

Over the course of the summer, you will have the opportunity to do meaningful work with the potential for broad impact in our New York City office. In this highly visible role, you'll be matched to one of Schmidt Futures' programs, where you will navigate ambiguity and analyze real world problems using exceptional quantitative skills and judgment to produce well formulated insights and ideas. Your efforts will help inform the creation of processes, instill operational best practices and help Schmidt Futures scale.
