Your Impact as the Float Administrator
The Float Administrator is primarily responsible for supporting individual Academy buildings and units in the absence of the primary school building leader. The float administrator will follow an established schedule to provide coverage and "off the grid" time for primary leaders as well as providing emergency coverage for unexpected absences. The float administrator will also be responsible for completing special high-level projects as per the Superintendent of Schools and will take the lead on managing the teacher mentor and training program as well as the annual review process and related training.
Provide coverage to buildings/units in the absence of lead administrator
* Follow a schedule to provide "off the grid" time to building leaders, providing on-site support to staff, students and families as needed
* Complete building- or unit-specific administrative tasks as appropriate
* Conduct observations/fidelities as needed
* Provide temporary ongoing coverage to buildings and units as needed for extended leader absences (such as a medical leave or an unfilled position)
* Manage crisis situations in conjunction with other unit and building leaders

* Ensure that all supporting documents for the AR process are up to date and stored appropriately for access

Complete special projects under the direction of the Superintendent of Schools

Advises the athletic director and recommends policy, method or procedural changes.
Student Responsibilities:
Serves as a mentor to each athlete to promote the development and demonstration in student athletes the character traits of trustworthiness, respect, responsibility, fairness, caring, and citizenship.
Gives constant attention to a student athlete's grades and conduct.
By his/her presence at all practices games and while traveling, provides assistance, guidance and safeguards for each participant.
Provides training rules and any other unique regulations of the sport to each athlete who is considered a participant.
Administers programs and policies concerning injuries, medical attention and emergencies.
Completes paperwork on all disabling athletic injuries on proper forms and submits to athletic office within 24 hours.
Contacts parents when a student becomes ineligible.
Assists athletes in their college or advanced educational selection.
Finance and Equipment:
Recommends equipment guidelines as to type, style, color or technical specifications.
Is responsible for operating within budget appropriations.
Is accountable for all equipment and collects the cost of any equipment lost or not returned.
Arranges for issuing, storing and reconditioning of equipment and submits annual inventory and current records concerning same.
Properly marks and identifies all equipment before issuing or storing.
Monitors equipment rooms and coaches' offices, authorizes who may enter, issue or requisition equipment.
Permits the athletes to only be in authorized areas of the building at the appropriate times.
Examines locker rooms before and after practices and games, checking on general cleanliness of the facility. Responsible for cleanliness and maintenance of specific sport equipment.
Secures all doors, lights, windows and locks before leaving building if custodians are not on duty.
Instills in each player a respect for equipment and school property, its care and proper use.
Public Relations:
Organizes parents, coaches, players and guests for preseason meetings.
Promotes the sport within the school through recruiting athletes who are not in another sports program and promotes the sport outside the school through news media, little league programs, or in any other feasible manner.
Responsible for the quality, effectiveness and validity of any oral or written release to local media.
Responsible for maintaining good public relations with news media, booster club, parents, officials, volunteers and fans.
Presents information to news media concerning schedules, tournaments and results.

Your Impact as the Supervisor of Community Services
The Supervisor of Community Services oversees respite and grant-funded services, ensuring program objectives are met for initiatives including STAR Recreation, BFFS, and STAR. Responsibilities include interviewing, training, and supervising Direct Support Professionals (DSPs), planning and scheduling staff and program activities, and providing direct support when needed.
* Ensures that the individuals served are provided personal choice and are encouraged and supported in making their own decisions to the greatest extent possible.
* Ensures that individuals are offered opportunities to participate in the community to the greatest extent possible and in the most integrated setting appropriate to their needs.
* Ensure that provision of services occurs as per individual life plans and/or agency contracts.
* Provide crisis intervention as needed
* Assist with training of staff in best-practice methods
* Perform behavioral, Health and Safety Standards as defined in employee handbook
* Ensure quality assurance in the provision of services
* Maintain the rights of individuals being served
* Assist in hiring and training of staff
* Ensure that staff follow incident reporting guidelines as per agency policies and procedures, as well as OPWDD regulations
* Complete observations of DSP/Respite staff
* Assist with program supply orders and field trip planning
* Works as a Life Skills Trainer
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
* Associate's degree in Human Services or related field

Job Summary: The School Nurse provides assessment, screening, planning, intervention, evaluation, counseling, management and/or referrals concerning the health and medical care needs of students for the purpose of minimizing absences due to illness, maximizing educational opportunities, and creating a healthy school climate.
Minimum Qualifications:
Registered professional nurse licensed in NYS.
Successful experiences working with pediatric population, preferably in a school setting desirable.
Current certification in Cardio-Pulmonary Resuscitation (CPR).
Primary Activities
Works collaboratively with health care providers, students, parents, school district staff and community agencies to ensure access and continuity of care for students.
Assists in the maintenance of a comprehensive school health program.
Collects information about the health development status of students for compliance with state immunization regulations and Board of Education policies.
Conducts school programs of immunization, physical examinations, and sight and hearing testing.
Performs nursing assessment for students who are ill or injured.
Implements Board policy with respect to the exclusion and readmission of students in connection with certain infectious and contagious diseases (e.g., Tuberculosis).
Maintains accurate records and documentation in accordance with state and federal law, and Board of Education policies.
Develops individual health care plan (ICHP) when needed with specific goals, nursing diagnosis, and interventions delineating school-nursing actions unique to students' needs and for incorporation into the student's individualized educational plan (IEP).
Serves as a member of school teams as assigned (e.g., Crisis Teams, PPT, Section 504).
Provides guidance, counseling and health education to students, parents and employees as necessary.
Reports to parents, school district personnel, physicians, clinics, and others as needed to meet student health needs.
Contributes to nursing and school health through innovations in theory; practice and participation in research, including narrative and statistical reports.
Provides medical assessment to school district employees as requested.
Provides health education to students as requested.
Notifies the appropriate person or agency of student's injury/illness in accordance with Board policy as necessary.
Confers with parents, students and school district staff and professionals to interpret health and developmental assessments.
Performs other related tasks as assigned by supervisors or other administrators.

Ability to follow oral and written orders from supervisors, administrators, physicians, and to coordinate work with principal, teachers and others.
Ability to describe orally and in writing school health services provided, issues and concerns regarding school health.
Ability to establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with students, staff and others contacted in the course of work.
Safety Requirements:
Adheres to all applicable professional safety standards and practices in the nursing field, including requirements set forth in federal and state law, and Occupational Safety and Health regulations.
Implements Board Policy regarding the medical or health care of employees and students.
Physical Demands
While performing the duties of this job, the employee:
is regularly required to stand, walk, and sit.
Is regularly required to climb, squat, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl and to reach above the head and reach forward.
Is regularly required to use hands and fingers to handle or feel objects, tools or controls and to talk and hear.
At times, required to work at a height of 20' or more off the ground in order to perform job duties.
Occasionally required to lift and/or push up to 75 pounds.
