He has written numerous peer-review articles on the subject of patient safety and is considered to be one of the "50 Leading Experts" on the subject by Becker’s Hospital Review. Dr. Ellner holds a Master’s Degree in Health Care Management from the Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health and has written case studies on surgical quality for the school to use as part of their curriculum. Dr. Ellner has appeared live on the Today Show, Larry King Live, NBC CT 30, NPR and has had articles in the CT Mirror, the Hartford Courant, the Wall Street Journal, Hartford Magazine, Hartford Business Journal, the HFMA e-Bulletin, Outpatient Surgery Magazine, Becker's Clinical Review, the American College of Surgeons Bulletin and the AHA Hospital and Health Networks Online Magazine for patient safety and health care quality improvement.
