The PlantManager is accountable for all aspects of plant performance by effectively planning work, organizing, and leading the plant teams and managing financial metrics while optimizing quality, safety and with respecting surrounding communities and environment. The PlantManager is also responsible for ensuring strategies to optimize and continuously improve plant performance, production schedules, cost-effectiveness, and building talent succession and people capabilities. This position shall maintain good standing in the community, sustainable operations, and adheres to and upholds all company policies, safety standards and federal / state regulations.
Roles & Responsibilities
* Lead the development of a new aggregate site from initial design through operational launch.
* Oversee permitting, environmental compliance, and site planning in coordination with engineering and regulatory teams.
* Manageplant layout, crushing circuit design, and selection of equipment for optimal production efficiency.
* Develop production and maintenance schedules, ensuring alignment with company goals and timelines.
Operations Management
* Supervise daily production of sand, gravel, and crushed stone to meet quality and volume targets.
* Monitor and adjust crushing and screening operations for optimal yield, product consistency, and cost efficiency.
* Implement best practices in preventative maintenance, plant performance, and equipment utilization.
* Ensure compliance with MSHA, OSHA, and environmental regulations.
Leadership & Team Development
* Recruit, train, and mentor a new team of operators, mechanics, and supervisors.
* Build a culture of safety, accountability, and continuous improvement.
* Provide leadership and guidance in troubleshooting production or quality issues.
Financial & Strategic Management
* Manage budgets, cost controls, and inventory levels to achieve profitability targets.
* Analyze production data to identify process improvements and cost-saving opportunities.
* Partner with senior leadership on long-term production planning and capacity expansion.

SKILLS YOU BRING:
5 years manufacturing experience with minimum 3 years supervisory experience in a GLASS fabrication environment
Bachelor's degree or combination of education and experience
Business finance acumen and P&L knowledge/experience
Background with manufacturing methods, process improvement programs and procedures including Lean manufacturing techniques required
Must have excellent follow through and communication skills with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple assignments

Job Responsibilities
Ensure the plant employees and guests on site comply with safety and environmental practices - lead by example and build a safety first culture
Lead production scheduling to meet customer needs including timely delivery
Develop a keen focus on customer service and proactive communication across the team
Partner with the engineering team to ensure proper drawings and designs are being used during the manufacturing process
Purchase material/services to successfully operate the facility
Successfully hire, supervise, orient, train and retain operations/product staff
Promote and maintain a clean workplace that is “tour-ready” at all times
Ability to read drawings, plan production tasks from those drawings, and coach employees to produce product correctly
Ability to operate some of the standard tools on the plant floor such as overhead cranes, hand tools, batch plant, etc. While the PlantManager will not be asked to operate these things continuously, having some of these skills will make him/her a better coach and troubleshooter
Be a leader and coach leadership. Motivate crews during morning huddles. Lead effective Mid-Day meetings. Coach Leads on how to set expectations on a whiteboard and have them followed. Lead inventory counts. Promote safety best practices in meetings with other PlantManagers
Perform any other duties as assigned by the General Manager as deemed appropriate and necessary by them
Job Requirements
Bachelor's Degree in Business, Operations, Engineering or equivalent experience
10+ years of experience working in a leadership role in an industrial manufacturing environment
Experience with precast/concrete or building materials is a plus
Proven track record of developing, leading and maintaining a continuous improvement mindset at the plant
Ability to work on your feet for the majority of the day in a production/plant environment subject to areas that are unheated and/or non-air conditioned
Ability to work with computer as necessary (Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, AX)
Ability to lead and direct other individuals and work with other group leaders
Compensation
This role has a base salary range of $100,000 to $130,000/year + 15% annual bonus

Reporting to the General Manager the Director of Estimating will lead the estimating teams and processes at a national level for the Crown Technical Systems business. Focused on growing the business, this role will be responsible in ensuring that the estimating procedures are developed and executed properly, maintaining a high bid success rate with a strong profit margin, and growing talent within the department.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
* Hires and trains the estimating department staff.
* Oversees the workflow and schedules of the department.
* Promotes collaboration between estimating staff, business development, marketing, and engineering teams.
* Conducts performance evaluations that are timely and constructive.
* Handles discipline and termination of employees in accordance with company policy.

What a typical day looks like:
* Establishes and institutes procedures for estimating team to adhere to both from a technical perspective and a financial perspective.
* Manage relationships with external customers and business development manager to ensure cost effectiveness for the business and the customer.
* Be responsible for watching technology trends and preparing cost reduction and other business recommendations based on those trends.
* Work with other departments to refine product estimates to establish standards for all products with regards to both products and labor hours.
* Perform final review of all estimates prior to sending to customer or the next layer for approval.

* Review terms and conditions at a high level for all estimates and approve based on limits of authority.
