Status: Full Time Role Overview: An Acute Care Medical Provider is needed for day shift to help us in our endeavor to build the healthiest community in the nation … one person at a time. This position will be based at the new and innovative acute care behavioral health facility, which opened in late 2023. SummitStone has the privilege of partnering closely with Larimer County on this venture. We provide comprehensive and collaborative care to individuals in crisis with mental health and/or substance use disorders. The advanced practice provider (PA or NP) will provide professional services in the evaluation and treatment of clients at our acute care facility. The primary focus will be rounding on clients admitted to our crisis and/or detox units. Major responsibilities of this position include: function as the medical team representative to a multidisciplinary treatment team designed to offer comprehensive behavioral health services; evaluate patients for substance use, mental health, and medical disorders, and determine the appropriate course of treatment for the patients; ability to thrive in a multidisciplinary team setting; meet/maintain documentation standards; and comply with county, state and federal laws, rules and regulations pertaining to health care. This position requires knowledge of diversity and inclusion with the relevant ability to engage, communicate, interact, and work effectively and cooperatively with people of different backgrounds, identities, and culturally diverse communities. Required: Advanced Practice Nursing degree (APN) degree or Physician Assistant (PA) from an accredited university. Demonstrated commitment and experience working with persons from marginalized communities and other patient populations experiencing vulnerabilities. Understanding and commitment to Medications for Addiction Treatment and harm reduction principles. Preferred: Spanish language skills. Other language skills also beneficial. At least 2 years' experience treating/servicing persons with substance use and mental health needs. Strong understanding of substance use treatment and knowledge of withdrawal management processes.
