Sun Logistics company history timeline
Founded in 1945, Sun Logistics has grown to over 400 staff, overseeing more than 2 million sq. ft. of warehouse space, and with accreditations including: ISO 9001, TAPA, C-TPAT and HKQAA.
Founded in 1954 by two Malaysian entrepreneurs, Kuan Tuck Kee and Chew Fook Sun, Tuck Sun is one of the longest serving, dedicated logistics companies in South East Asia.
Sun Logistics had its beginnings as a provider to the freight forwarding community at the JFK airport in 1973.
Within a couple of years Sun outgrew this building and in 1977 moved to a 20 door terminal in Brooklyn.
A division named Sunline Express Inc, was formed in 1991 with a focus on consolidating and moving LTL to “sunshine” states such as Florida, Texas and California.
SUN LOGISTICS TECHNOLOGY, INC. (SLTI) was established in November 1996 with a paid up capital of P16,000,000 (sixteen million pesos) divided into 16,000 shares of common stocks.
Providing quality service to its customers helped Sun to outgrow its Brooklyn terminal and in 2005 Sun Logistics purchased its new 65 door – 5 acre terminal in Maspeth, Queens.
Since the year 2005, Tuck Sun Logistics Sdn Bhd and TS Freight Services Sdn.
Bhd upgraded all ISO 9001 standards to ISO 9001:2015 standards by Llyod’s Register for Customs Brokerage, Freight Forwarding, and trucking services covering land, sea and air transportation.
