The Senior BI Analyst - Citrus & Varietal Strategy is responsible for developing a deep understanding of citrus pricing, supply chain flow, and varietal dynamics within the citrus sector. By pairing that business knowledge with technical expertise in Power BI, this role transforms complex data into clear, actionable insights. The analyst is expected to collaborate closely with stakeholders, interpret nuanced business needs, and build impactful dashboards and reports that support both strategic planning and day-to-day decision-making. This role requires a strong grasp of data storytelling, exceptional analytical thinking, and a commitment to making information accessible and meaningful. Essential Job functions/ Duties: * Partner with varietal managers and cross-functional teams to understand business challenges, pricing strategies, market conditions, and operational nuances within the citrus sector. * Analyze historical and forecasted citrus data, including varietal-level supply, demand, and pricing flows. * Design, develop, and maintain interactive Power BI dashboards that turn complex data into digestible insights. * Gather, document, and validate business requirements and translate them into BI specifications. * Serve as a liaison between business users and technical teams to ensure data solutions meet user needs. * Leverage DAX, Power Query, and data modeling best practices to ensure performance and scalable BI solutions. * Continuously monitor and improve report performance, accuracy, and usability. * Contribute to data governance initiatives and advocate data literacy and self-service analytics. * Provide end-user training and support to drive adoption of BI tools and reports Minimum Qualifications (Education, Certifications/Licenses, and Experience: * 3 years of experience as a business Analyst, BI Analyst, or Power BI Developer. * 1 year Working directly in or with agriculture, produce, or a similarly complex, seasonal industry is preferred. * Four-year bachelor's degree Preferred in Business Analytics, Data Science, Agriculture Economics, Information Systems, or related field. Equivalent work experience considered. * Strong business acumen, particularly in agricultural operations or perishable commodity markets. * Ability to connect business strategy with data insights - telling a compelling story through visualizations. * Advanced skills in Power BI: DAX, Power Query, data modeling, custom visuals, performance tuning. * Analytical mindset with the ability to break down ambiguous problems and translate them into clear data products. * Excellent verbal and written communication skills to interface with both technical and non-technical stakeholders. * Familiarity with pricing strategy, supply chain flows, and cost modeling within agricultural commodities is highly desirable. * Demonstrated success in building and maintaining enterprise-grade Power BI reports. * Proficiency in Power BI (DAX, Power Query, Data Modeling). * SQL proficiency (querying and joining data sets). * Familiarity with cloud data platforms (e.g., Azure, Fabric, or similar) is a plus. * Understanding of or strong interest in citrus varietals, pricing, and seasonal flow Well, what is this job really about? ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES (Revised) Interpret and analyze yield and Days to Harvest (DTH) data to develop insights and recommendations for procurement strategy. Design reporting frameworks and provide strategic recommendations based on data analysis. Independently evaluate supplier proposals and negotiate terms within company guidelines. Responsible for evaluating, qualifying, and recommending suppliers, with authority to make supplier selection decisions within defined parameters. Develop and recommend procurement strategies to reduce costs, improve supply continuity, and mitigate risk exposure. Advise senior leadership on supplier performance, market conditions, and potential supply chain risks. Collaborate with suppliers to ensure timely delivery of raw materials that meet quality specifications, and address issues proactively to protect business operations. Monitor and fulfill contract obligations; exercise independent judgment in developing strategies to minimize financial exposure if obligations are at risk.
