Tom is currently CFO at Sunrun, the nation's leading residential solar, storage, and energy services company. Previously, he was the Chief Business Officer at Nest, responsible for worldwide sales, business development, partnerships, and go-to-market activities. Tom joined Nest as the company's first CFO in January 2013 and led the company's successful sale to Google. During his time at Nest, Tom also ran the company's Customer Support, Product Quality, Training, Logistics, and Business Analytics teams. During his time at Google, he also was a VP within the company's consumer hardware team. Prior to joining Nest, Tom served in several key financial roles at Tesla Motors, including Director of Finance. After joining Tesla when the company was still a start-up, he was instrumental in the product development of the Tesla Model S, as well as the strategic planning, financing and corporate development activities leading to the company’s initial public offering and subsequent public equity offerings. Tom is an advisor to Freight Farms, a developer of modular container farms, and previously served on the Board of Directors and as Chair of the Audit Committee at Proterra, the marketing-leading manufacturer of zero-emission, battery-electric buses. Tom has a Bachelor of Science degree and an M.B.A. in finance, both from the University of Pennsylvania’s Wharton School of Business.

Working away from home. I live in Idaho however, solar makes the most sense in California right now.
