**Overview**
The Installer position is a critical member of a solar installation construction team and is responsible for working in partnership with the Foreperson and Lead Installer to complete residential solar installation projects. As Sunrun continues to help build a more sustainable future, this position is best suited for someone passionate about solar installation, field safety and working with others.
**Responsibilities/The Impact**
+ Ensure personal, crew and job site safety at all times and participates in training sessions on new products, installation methodology and safety
+ Review inventory at loading dock to ensure assigned crew truck is stocked adequately
+ Complete layout and assemble solar modules, the racking, mechanical and structural mounts, electrical equipment and tools in preparation of installation as specified in the project plan
+ Apply weather sealing to roofing structure, building or support mechanisms
+ Perform project clean up including client site and installation vehicle to ensure a clean and orderly job site and work environment

Overview

The Solar Technician, Install Lead Position
Sunnova Energy is searching for a Solar Technician, Install Lead to join our team. The Lead's primary responsibility is overseeing a crew installing solar panels, battery and other associated systems on residential homes to meet all company standards, quality, and performance while providing excellent customer service.
The Lead must ensure all team members abide by all company safety regulations, be adaptable, a good communicator, and comfortable overseeing and working with a team and with homeowners. They need to be familiar with standard photovoltaic rules and guidelines, know how to follow site plans and ensure a clean job site.
Solar Technician, Install Lead Responsibilities
Oversees a crew installing PV systems according to engineering designs, permits and electrical code
Leads Job Safety Analysis and ensures crew safety and following of all company safety guidelines
Ensures installation meets all quality requirements
Provides mentoring and training to new team members
Submits timely reports through Sunnova software showing project progress, quality and completion
Utilizes knowledge, skills, and testing equipment to commission systems and evaluate system issues
Identifies solutions to resolve technical design problems
Manages vehicle-material stock and equipment inventory
Provides training to customers about system operation
Minimum Requirements
High School Diploma (or GED)
3+ years' experience as an electrician, solar installer, or solar maintenance technician
Prior experience overseeing a PV installation crew
Current, valid Driver's license with acceptable Motor Vehicle Report
Proficient in speaking, reading, and writing English
Preferred Qualifications
OSHA 30 Certified
1 + years' experience in the solar electric industry preferred.
Bilingual, English and Spanish
Additional Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Proficiency in Microsoft Office
Organized and maintains a professional appearance
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Reads and interprets blueprints, schematics, and wiring diagrams
Working Conditions
Location varies with job site
Estimated 10% travel time
Driving required; needs valid Driver's license with acceptable Motor Vehicle Record
Must be willing to travel for some projects depending on jobsite
Physical Requirements
Long hours spent outside on residential rooftops, driving to customer residences, some ground and rooftop work.
Various weather conditions include cold and snowy, hot and humid, and everything in between; must be comfortable working in different environments
Must be able to lift and carry up to 50lbs; assistance may be provided for oversized items
Must be able to sit, stand, walk, and drive for up to 8 hours at a time
Work postures include reaching, kneeling, pushing, pulling, squatting, crawling, bending, twisting, climbing, and handling objects above/below the shoulder

Reports to: Branch Operations Manager
Status: Full-time, Hourly Non-Exempt
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS - include and are not limited to:
Possess a valid driver's license (Class B CDL with Hazmat Endorsement preferred)
Reports to work as scheduled and work overtime as necessary
Maintain the knowledge and ability to install a variety of: furnaces, boilers, water heaters, air conditioning systems, and mini-split systems
Maintain the knowledge and ability to install systems fired by: fuel oil, kerosene, propane, or natural gas in residential and commercial environments
Maintain the knowledge and ability to perform related plumbing and electrical work
Maintain the knowledge and ability to perform efficiency and combustion tests
Be capable of maneuvering equipment and materials in excess of 300 pounds with the use of proper mechanical devices and/or additional manpower
Possess the ability to operate various instruments such as multi meters and combustion analyzers
Must be able to successfully complete a pre-functional evaluation
Must be able to successfully complete a pre-employment drug screen
Will be subject to random drug testing pool
RESPONSIBILITIES - include and are not limited to:
Abide by all safety and environmental Company policies and procedures
Maintain safety and compliance records 100% of the time
Abide by all related traffic and environmental Laws and Regulations
Perform daily inspection of Company vehicle and report results to Supervisor
Maintain clean and well-kept Company vehicles
Collect monetary payment from customers when necessary
Provide quality customer satisfaction to all customers and business contacts
Provide teamwork attitude with all employees and comply with the company dress code 100% of the time
Accurately complete all necessary paperwork on a timely basis and turn in to Supervisor
Attend all applicable Company provided in-house and out-source training
Exchange trade related knowledge and information with all employees
Maintain confidentiality 100% of the time in regards to customer and company information
Reports to work with minimal absenteeism or tardiness
Attend job related training and informational seminars as requested
Performs other job related activities and special projects as assigned
QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS - include and are not limited to:
CTEP qualifications - if not currently certified will need to obtain within 1 year of employment and maintain these certifications
EPA Refrigerant certification - if not currently certified will need to obtain within 1 year of employment and maintain these certifications
Prefer minimum of 2 years' experience as a HVAC Equipment Installer
