Department Overview We are looking for an Energy Transition Solutions Intern to join our team in one of today's most exciting technologies. This role will report to Senior Director, Energy Transition Solutions, and based in San Jose, CA. This is a fully on-site, in office role. The role of the energy transition solution team is to (1) promote and position Bloom technologies early in the project phase to create value and influence by working closely with consultants, developers, EPC's, Industry OEM partners and customers; (2) Influence customers to understand and recognize the full economic value that Bloom solutions provide; (3) Understand Energy/Power market structures, pricing mechanisms and policy that impact the customer value proposition. Position Responsibilities Evaluate Bloom and competitive equipment and assess system performance and product competitiveness. Develop full economic value of Bloom solutions, comparing it to other competitive technologies. Develop technical and commercial collateral for the Energy Transition Team which make it easier for customers to understand and recognize the full economic value of Bloom solutions. Develop region and segment specific collateral to sell the value of our offerings to the customers. Gather and analyze competitive feedback in the regions to improve our understanding of value differentiation in the eyes of our customers. Collect Voice of Customer (VoC) and Voice of Market (VoM) on the value of bloom solutions and support new product introduction activities. There will be opportunities to attend and participate in customer meetings along with senior Energy Transition Champions and account executives. Minimum Qualifications Currently a student earning an MBA from an accredited university or college with a bachelor's degree in a STEM field. This includes the ability to monitor systems in real-time, control them, capture telemetry and manage the processing pipelines that this telemetry is used for. This continuous flow of data, the corresponding analysis by experts and the feedback to improve the lifetime of the systems plays a vital role in Bloom's strategy of providing clean, affordable energy where it's needed. Department Overview New Product Introduction (NPI) Stack Team works on advanced process development for new stack and stack component designs, new materials and innovative high volume manufacturing methods for our factories of the future. Process scale up and transfer to high volume manufacturing is our team's core expertise. Our work is highly collaborative in nature where we partner closely with Engineering, Manufacturing, Quality, Reliability and Supply Chain Teams. Position Responsibilities Conduct first of the kind experiments for product development and support prototype builds. Implement DOEs and support data collection and analysis to help establish process windows, create specifications, enhance manufacturability, improve yield and qualify vendors. Develop and execute test plans to qualify new processes, inspection and measurement systems and present data and results to Technical teams. Work with manager or other engineers on team to conduct Root-cause analysis, troubleshoot yield and/or process excursions and provide failure analysis support. Create work instructions and other associated process documentation to facilitate process transfers to Manufacturing Train other technicians on new processes as needed to support higher volumes in manufacturing. Minimum Qualifications Currently a student earning a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Chemical or Materials Science Engineering or a related discipline. Department Overview In Bloom's Customer Installations Group (CIG), the civil engineering team focuses on the physical setup and integration of infrastructure systems within a facility, site, or project. Department Overview The electrical engineering design team is responsible for creating, developing, and refining electrical systems and components within the Customer Installations Group. Coordinate with team members to design fuel cell based microgrids to improve customer power resiliency. Develop installation drawings packages for new fuel cell installation projects. This includes AutoCAD drafting and working with the drafting team to update the installation drawings as the design progresses. Create wiring diagrams to ensure the fuel cell system will behave as expected on site. Support template updates to improve accuracy for future projects Minimum Qualifications Currently a student earning a Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or Construction Management required. Desired Qualifications Expert understanding of AutoCAD for 2-D drawings. Basic understanding of electrical engineering design principles. Basic understanding of electrical engineering and architectural details as used in building plan sets. Ability to read/create an electrical single line diagram.
