Overview The Senior Product Manager, Field Implementation & Research, leads all portions of product implementation in the field and throughout the Sunrun branch network. This position owns VOC capture from both internal and external installers and customers. This feedback is critical to fuel future product ideas and improvements for our development team. They are responsible not only for driving product innovation, but also innovating the methods with which Sunrun and partners install in order to fully realize the benefits of SnapNrack products. This role is responsible for identifying the needs of a solar installation business and influencing the next generation of products and processes as well as their launch/training/adoption. *Compensation varies based on background and location* Responsibilities SnapNrack Product Development: Implementation of Lean Startup product development methodology to test product ideas faster and begin further development. Management of product development process from beginning to end to ensure product is designed appropriately and in a timely manner in order to meet market window of opportunity. Product Implementation: Leadership in rollout of new product lines and business processes. Process drives product innovation and products drive product innovation. This role will be responsible for developing and implementing a plan to change installation crew organization and installation procedures. These responsibilities go beyond product training and rollouts. They also include inventory and tool organization and management. VOC Capture (Field Feedback): Collection and analysis of customer feedback, product ideas, and business improvement opportunities. Gathering of feedback from the “real world” at the installer level to improve products and make consistent incremental product improvements as well as game changing innovations. Opportunities for additional methods of collection to be adopted inclusive of focus groups, market research etc. Breakthrough Product Research: Investigation into new technologies for ideas and potential partnerships. Initial ideas inclusive of Solar Roof, Carports, Utility Scale, etc. Research of additional product manufacturing methods to improve product design, manufacturability, and supply chain capabilities. Installation/Inventory Process Optimization: Evaluation of current state of Sunrun fleet and job material deployment to implement significant change and improve efficiency of total install process. Opportunities include truck standardized organization, transition from box trucks to pickup trucks, as well as job site deliveries. These are critical in order to make the entire process more efficient and install more jobs per crew per day. Sunrun/AEE/ED Installation Issues: Support of escalated rooftop installation issues that arise due to uncertainty of field conditions and structures. Sunrun installs on hundreds of roofs every single day based on an initial site assessment and images typically taken utilizing a drone. There are issues that must be addressed on a regular basis to help provide proper product guidance and support. All other projects / duties as assigned. Qualifications Bachelor's degree or equivalent education and experience required. MS or MBA preferred. Minimum of 8 years experience in field operations for a solar installation business and/ or product management including relevant internships and co-ops. Analytical and statistical (quantitative) skills Good understanding of construction process flow and mechanical products' impact Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Ability to effectively communicate with sales and marketing organizations. Ability to effectively communicate and coordinate with all levels of the organization. Hardworking, action-oriented, and results driven. Proficiency in MS Office suite. Including strong skills in Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, vlookups, hlookups) and general familiarity with new software systems Google Suite experience preferred. Job Description Key Accountabilities • Lead the design and development of scalable and reliable data pipelines, including data ingestion, processing, storage, and retrieval. • Develop data models and schemas that support efficient data storage, retrieval, and analytics, employing optimization techniques to enhance query performance and scalability. • Leverage big data technologies and frameworks (e.g., Snowflake, Data Fabric, SAP Datasphere) to process and analyze large volumes of data, enabling advanced analytics and machine learning initiatives. Manage and optimize data infrastructure, including cloud-based platforms, containerization technologies, and distributed computing environments. • Work closely with other teams, including Data Science, Analytics, and Product, to understand their data needs and requirements. • Develop and implement best practices for data modeling, storage, and retrieval. • Ensure the security and privacy of our data and compliance with relevant regulations. • Develop and maintain documentation for all data processes and systems. • Evaluate new technologies and tools for data processing, storage, and retrieval and recommend solutions to improve the efficiency and scalability of our data infrastructure. • Propose and lead continuous improvement opportunities. • Mentor team members to develop their technical and leadership skills. Education, Experience, & Skill Requirements •9-11 years of experience in data engineering, including experience in designing and building data pipelines. • Strong programming skills in one or more languages and tools , such as Python, DBT, Airflow, GIT • Strong proficiency in data engineering technologies, such as ETL/ELT frameworks, CI/CD,big data processing, and SQL/Snowflake and NoSQL databases. • Deep understanding of database systems, data modeling, and data warehousing. . Strong proficiency in building analytical dashboards using PowerBI/Tableau. • Experience with cloud-based data storage and processing technologies, such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud. Key Metrics •Understanding of data privacy and data governance policies. •Strong problem-solving and analytical skills. •Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment. •Strong communication and interpersonal skills. •Ability to lead and manage projects. •Experience in leading a team of data engineers and managing complex projects. •Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work in a fast-paced environment. •Excellent communication skills and ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams. •Experience with agile software development methodologies. Requires strong Techno-functional data and analytics experience in enabling Business use cases . Hands on experience as lead in implementing data pipelines leveraging DevOps/DataOps principles.
