In this role, you'll work closely with the Chief Human Resources Officer (CHRO) to provide high-level guidance on employee relations, interpret policies and collective bargaining agreements, and serve as an advisor to supervisors and campus leadership. You will also be responsible for leading workplace investigations, recommending and initiating disciplinary processes when appropriate, and maintaining accurate documentation to ensure SUNY's policies are applied consistently across the university. The Employee Services Department provides services and guidance related to recruitment and employment, employee relations, performance management, benefits and leaves, and payroll. This includes conducting workplace investigations and recommending and initiating the disciplinary process in accordance with established procedures when applicable. Duties include but are not limited to: * Conducting investigations in accordance with established policies and procedures and applicable collective bargaining agreements * Providing consultation and guidance to supervisors and employees on a wide range of employee relations matters such as performance management, workplace concerns, policy interpretation and corrective action * Resolving workplace conflicts by facilitating discussions, recommending solutions, and ensuring issues are handled with fairness and confidentiality * Maintaining accurate documentation and records related to employee relations cases and actions Salary: Commensurate with experience and employment arrangement. Ed. in Teaching English as a Second Language. In addition, the Modern Languages Department offers lower division courses in American Sign Language, French, Italian, and Spanish, as many majors at SUNY Cortland require coursework in a language other than English. The teaching load for this position is 3/3 and includes lower division language courses, upper division courses in advanced Spanish conversation, grammar, and composition, and upper division courses of the assistant professor's design in 21st century Hispanic culture with a primary focus outside of literature. Classes are taught in person in Spanish.
