Major Responsibilities
Department Profile:
SUNY Cortland offers the largest and oldest sport management program in the SUNY system. The department's mission focuses on high-impact practices and career-driven outcomes for students. High-impact practices include fieldwork, internships, study abroad, applied classes, and more. Students may choose from five concentrations within the major (event management, media & I.T., sales, international sport, and intercollegiate sport). The department also houses a fully online Master's program.
The department features a unique range of elective classes in areas such as streaming media production, videography, social media, sport analytics, international sport management, entrepreneurship, sport tourism, disability and sport, video games, fantasy sports, and more. All undergraduate students are required to work one semester with SUNY Cortland's Athletic Department and complete a full-time, 15-credit senior internship. The undergraduate SPMG program has approximately 500 students, and the graduate program has approximately 60 students.
Teaching

The Department of Chemical and Biological Engineering (CBE) at the University at Buffalo (UB) invites candidates to apply for a position at the Associate Professor or Full Professor level to be known as Professor of Empire Innovation. Selected candidates will receive support through the SUNY Empire Innovation Program (EIP) which recognizes high caliber faculty with proven track records of externally funded research.
We invite applications from prominent leaders in the broad fields of AI and Biotechnology. Priority will be given to research areas such as AI-directed initiatives related to small molecule natural products; biologics; cell therapies; manufacturing across food, biotech, and biopharmaceutical products; and the interfacing of biotechnology and non-health-related fields (i.e., the biological production of organic or inorganic materials).
The successful candidate should have a record of scholarly accomplishments, a sustained externally funded research program (with the potential to obtain grants from a wide variety of public and private sources and collaborate and/or establish projects with industry), and teaching experience.

We invite prominent leaders in the foundational areas of Trustworthy Artificial Intelligence and Robotic Systems, including computer vision (including video analysis and 3D reconstruction), machine learning (including big data analytics and adversarial machine learning), natural language processing (audio-visual multimodal understanding), autonomous systems (such as driverless cars), human-robot collaboration (focusing on attack modeling, privacy preservation, and safety guarantees), knowledge representation and reasoning, and cognitive science (computational linguistics, philosophy, and computer modeling of neural networks and brains).
The successful candidate will be expected to teach courses at the graduate and undergraduate levels, mentor graduate students, advise students at all levels, and maintain an active research program. We are particularly looking for candidates who can operate and lead effectively in a diverse community of students and faculty and share our vision of helping all constituents reach their full potential.
The Department of Computer Science and Engineering (CSE) offers BS degrees in computer science (accredited by the Computing Accreditation Commission of ABET, and in computer engineering (accredited by the Engineering Accreditation Commission of ABET, a combined 5-year BS- MS program, a minor in computer science, a Certificate in Data-Intensive Computing, and several joint programs (BS in Computer Science/MBA, BS in Computational Physics, BA in Social Sciences Interdisciplinary - Cognitive Science Concentration, BS in Bioinformatics and Computational Biology - CSE concentration), a minor in cybersecurity, and an advanced graduate certificate in cybersecurity as well as MS and PhD programs in Computer Science & Engineering.
The department currently has over 50 tenure-track faculty, 18 teaching faculty, approximately 2,200 undergraduate majors, 1200 masters' and 160 PhD students. Over thirty junior faculty members have been hired since 2010, and we continue expanding. Two members of our faculty currently hold key university leadership positions, and nine members of our faculty are IEEE and/or ACM Fellows. The department is well known for offering an excellent collaborative and nurturing environment for faculty. Recently, a cohort of five junior faculty received the CAREER awards in 2019, setting a national record.
Our faculty members are actively involved in cutting-edge research and successful interdisciplinary programs and centers devoted to biometrics; bioinformatics; biomedical computing; computational and data science and engineering; computer vision and multimedia systems; database systems; document analysis and recognition; programming languages; high-performance computing; cybersecurity; embedded, networked and distributed systems; machine learning and artificial intelligence; connected and autonomous vehicles and sustainable transportation; and theory of computation. Our faculty has excellent publication records over the years. Since 2015, the department has moved up its rank to be among the top 40 on csrankings.org and is among the top 25 in two recent years (2017 and 2019). During the same period, our research expenditure has grown from $4.5 million (for AY 2015-2016) to close to $10.5 million (AY 2023-2024).

The candidate will join an expanding group of computational researchers as part of UAlbany's new AI Initiative. The College of Integrated Health Sciences is a joint venture between the New York State Department of Health (NYSDOH) and the University at Albany. The department's partnership with investigators at the Wadsworth Center, the public health laboratory of the NYSDOH, provides an extraordinary opportunity for collaborative research on the frontlines of human health. Faculty benefit from access to world-class resources, including advanced genomics, imaging and structural biology facilities, and state-of-the-art laboratories. The College of Emergency Preparedness, Homeland Security, and Cybersecurity (CEHC) at the University at Albany (UAlbany) is seeking applicants for a tenured Associate or Full professor who will also serve as the Director of its Interdisciplinary PhD in Information Science Program. The Director of the Program provides academic, administrative, and strategic leadership to support the development and delivery of a high-quality, interdisciplinary doctoral program. They ensure that the Program aligns with the mission, vision, and strategic goals of CEHC and the University at Albany. The Director is further responsible for promoting academic excellence, fostering a strong research culture, ensuring student success, and managing program operations. Candidates should be able to take an integrative approach in working with faculty, staff, and students from a variety of backgrounds within and outside the college.
The successful candidate is an integral part of the Department's instructional team. Associate or Full Professors deliver undergraduate and graduate-level instruction, conduct research, and partake in advisement responsibilities. Each semester, the tenure-track and tenured faculty generally teach two courses. While we welcome candidates from a range of specializations and methodologies, we especially encourage candidates whose scholarly work critically engages with diverse ways of understanding issues in technology and society. This could include scholarship in topics such as information science, cybersecurity, emergency management, artificial intelligence, communications or related areas.
The successful candidate will also be expected to participate in College and Department activities, serve on committees, attend faculty meetings and retreats, participate in end-of session activities along with graduation and other meetings that arise, in addition to developing curriculum.

The successful hire would also help recruit and attract top talent to complement existing strengths.

Primary Responsibilities:
