We are looking for an experienced and self-motivated individual to fill the position of Quality Superintendent at our Muscle Shoals, Alabama Plant.

Provides Quality Leadership to support quality programs focused on the production of Quality Product, Continuous Improvement, compliance to Good Manufacturing Practices and Regulatory/Legal requirements.

Develop programs to ensure manufacturing systems are in control and capable of meeting defined specifications.

Communicate plant quality issues to Plant Management and ensure containment and corrective actions are put in place.
Works with the plant management staff on continuous improvement initiatives. Implement Corporate Quality Initiatives. Manage the Quality Budget within the guidelines and direction of Plant Management. Ensure the Quality Group is trained and staffed with competent personnel. Coordinate third party and internal quality system audits to document compliance to Regulations. Ensure compliance to Regulatory and Legal Requirements. Serves as USP Compliance Officer. Ensures validation of equipment is complete for USP and Food Safety Requirements. Completes any additional responsibilities assigned by Plant Management.

*Qualifications*
Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution in science related field. A minimum of 10 years of experience in the consumer products, food manufacturing, medical device, and/or pharmaceutical industries. Experience working in a plant environment. Knowledge of quality management systems, food safety systems, and USP Regulatory Requirements. Working knowledge of lab functions, methods, and equipment. Working knowledge of computers including Microsoft Office and SAP. Knowledge of ISO or Regulatory Requirements for 21 CFR 110, 11, 117 and 210/211. Supervisory experience is preferred. Physical Requirements: Must be able work in temperatures ranging from winter lows to summer highs, and in all weather conditions. Must be able to wear the required personal protective equipment necessary to perform the job. Must be able to climb stairs and ladders, walk on grating, work on computer, reach files, and use telephone.

You'd be responsible for:


Coaching, evaluating and training staff and field workers in the performance of landscape construction services Inspecting all field work; analyzing and resolving problems Managing labor force to ensure labor budgets are on track Maintaining accurate daily and weekly Foremen and Superintendent activity logs; updating production tracking reports and generating other related reports as needed Responsible for dispatch of labor and equipment to job sites Managing equipment utilization on projects, equipment storage and maintenance Ensuring that all construction services are delivered according to contract specifications, within budget and on schedule Meeting and exceeding the expectations and requirements of external and internal customers - working with staff to ensure same Working collaboratively with others; fostering a positive "people oriented" environment Evaluating employee safety data and promoting safe work practices or conditions; ensuring employees attend weekly safety meetings Demonstrating role model behaviors on ethics and integrity as well as positively promoting Company culture


You might be a good fit if you have:


Minimum of 10 years' experience with landscape, concrete, irrigation and construction production techniques Minimum of 5 years managing and leading construction production teams on a General Contractor level A Bachelor's degree


And while not mandatory, it would be great if you also have:


Bilingual (Spanish) highly preferred Expert knowledge of construction tools, machinery and equipment Strong work ethic Effective verbal and written communication skills Ability to prioritize and multi-task in a fast-paced environment Customer service experience

**Summary**

Manages, either through supervisors or directly supervises Maintenance staff for a specific part of the plant and/or shift.

**Principal and Essential Duties & Responsibilities**

Assists in the planning, organizing and directing in the development of the maintenance work plan; assigns methods and procedures.Assists in recommending maintenance and operating procedures for new facilities prior to and during contraction. Develops new layout designs for use in installing new equipment/processes, as well as, changes to existing.Prepares estimates of needed equipment, materials, supplies and labor. Supervises the repair of all type of building, mechanical and structural problems.Reviews completed work orders; assists in establishing work policies, maintenance and repair standards.Develops, maintains and updates as necessary a preventive maintenance program using the technology provided by the Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) system in order to increase the reliability of the equipment and minimize production line downtime related to equipment failure.Identifies chronic maintenance problem areas and recommends courses of action necessary to repair, modify or replace equipment by utilizing machine downtime and machine history data as available from the CMMS system in order to increase machine efficiencies and reduce costs.Ensures that the activities of the Maintenance Department adhere to USDA regulations and plant quality control standards by keeping the Maintenance Supervisors and mechanics informed of the proper procedures and monitoring their compliance in order to maximize the Company's ability to provide high quality products.

**Minimum Education**

Bachelor's degree in Industrial or Mechanical Engineering or related discipline

**Experience Requirements**

3-5 years related experience. Experience in layout, drafting, project management, ergonomic design, Industrial Engineering, CAD Operation and USDA requirements.

**Environmental Factors and Physical Requirements**

1. May need to move light equipment or supplies from one place to another. 2. May need to access files, supplies and equipment. 3. When in a plant environment: Exposure primarily consists of wet and moist floors which include metal and plastic grating surfaces. May be exposed to temperatures of 28 degrees to 100 degrees Fahrenheit with both ambient and 100% humidity. May handle product 25 degrees to 50 degrees Fahrenheit. May be exposed to noise ranges of 50 db to 110 db. May be exposed to all chemicals used in poultry, food, processing facility. Must wear and use protective and safety equipment required for the job as directed by the Company.
