Summary:
Project Superintendent has full responsibility for the onsite production of the project. Job Responsibilities
Provide onsite supervision and be responsible for the proper coordination and timeliness of the work and for the proper workmanship of all trades.
Provide safety oversight to ensure compliance with OSHA and EM 385-1-1 regulations.
Responsible for keeping a clean and safe working environment.
Schedule and coordinate all subcontractors and material suppliers.
Attend all pre- construction site visits, pre-final inspections, and final inspections.
Communicate and direct the efforts of those performing the work.
Conduct weekly or bi-weekly QC / Progress meetings.
Perform USACE EM385 three phases of control.
Required Qualifications
5+ years' experience performing as a project manager/superintendent for a general contracting firm overseeing multi-discipline commercial and industrial construction projects with a premium being placed on managing government construction projects.
Strong leadership abilities and interpersonal skills; excellent verbal and written communication.
Proficient ability to Read / Interpret blueprints and project specifications.
Computer literacy (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, MS Project, Bluebeam, etc.).
Ability to create project schedules, pre-construction, and product submittals are a plus as well. (Knowledge of MS Project, Primavera P6, Smartsheet).
OSHA 30-hour training with Five (5) years of continuous construction industry safety experience in supervising/ managing general construction (i.e., managing safety programs or processes, or conducting hazard analyses and developing controls)
First Aid/CPR.
Must have the ability to obtain a Security Clearance: Pass Background Check - Secret Clearance preferred.

UIC Construction is seeking a field Superintendent with extensive vertical construction experience for remote Alaska construction projects. Site superintendent oversee all types of craft workers onsite on a fast paced construction project. Primary duties will include leading construction crews, field documentation, managing onsite subcontractors, scheduling work, and tracking productivity.
**Responsibilities**
Essential functions will include:
+ Interpret and apply construction documents, including plans, specifications, contracts, shop drawings, submittals, and schedules independently.
+ Coordinate daily activities with owner representatives, project managers, foremen, craft workers, and subcontractors to resolve on-site challenges.
+ Actively participate in and support the health and safety program, ensuring all work is performed in accordance with OSHA standards.
+ Monitor project progress to ensure work is completed according to plans, specifications, and quality standards.
+ Manage labor and equipment resources effectively to maintain project schedules and control costs.
+ Communicate clearly and professionally with owners, inspectors, architects, engineers, and subcontractors.
+ Supervise field crews and perform construction duties as needed, following all safety protocols.
+ Conduct safety meetings and complete job hazard analyses (JHAs) as required.
+ Maintain a consistent on-site presence during construction activities.
+ Plan project layout and allocate resources, including labor and equipment, to meet project milestones.
+ Lead and support crews consisting of carpenters, laborers, and specialty trade subcontractors.
+ Demonstrate working knowledge of related construction trades and the ability to operate basic equipment such as forklifts and loaders.
+ Exhibit strong verbal and written communication skills.
+ Work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.
+ Perform physical tasks that require full range of motion.

**Qualifications**
Minimum Qualifications:
+ Min 10-15 years of Superintendent/General Foreman Experience in Remote Vertical Alaska Construction Projects.
+ Must have comprehensive working knowledge of Remote Alaska Construction.
+ Must possess and maintain current driver's license.
+ Must have a punctual work history.
+ Must have a high school diploma or equivalent.
+ First Aid Certification
+ OSHA-10 Certification
Physical and Mental Demands:
+ Strenuous walking, standing, and climbing; frequent heavy lifting and carrying.
+ Work performed on uneven surfaces, ladders, and scaffolding.
+ Requires full-body physical activity including climbing, lifting, balancing, stooping, and walking.
+ Frequent use of hands and arms for handling, installing, positioning, and moving materials.
+ Must maintain physical endurance and coordination to safely perform construction-related tasks.
Working Conditions:

The Role
* Manage daily construction activities across multiple projects
* Supervise construction crews and subcontractors to ensure quality, compliance, and schedule adherence
* Travel throughout regional market to various projects as needed (+/-90% annually)
* Conduct site walks, pre-construction meetings, safety audits, and closeout inspections
* Coordinate closely with permitting, engineering, real estate, and logistics teams to keep projects on track

Requirements
* 5+ years of total telecommunications construction experience including experience in a supervisory/leadership role
* Knowledge and prior work experience in telecom construction industry - coax splicing, fiber splicing, directional drilling, map reading, etc.
* Knowledge and experience with aerial and underground construction
* Practical knowledge of Network operations and associated inventory for both RF and fiber networks
* Experience in estimating, bidding projects and change-order preparation
* Able to travel throughout regional market to various projects as needed (+/-90% annually)
* Problem-solving and like to troubleshoot problems as they arise in the field
