Participate in developing strategies for RFQ's including an estimated time budget for proposal preparations.
Prepare proposals at the request of the Department Manager including the budget for hours and dollars per established policies and procedures. Coordinate activities with the Marketing Services Department and other technical disciplines.
Recommend to Department Manager approved sub-consultants for the appropriate section of proposal.
Assist in identifying all client representatives involved in the buying decision, and follow-up with them as required to secure the project for FPA.

Establish a project specific QA/QC process consistent with FPA QA/QC program.

Explain to the assigned staff the role of each person, the phase, tasks, related budget, and schedule.
Work with corporate support services to prepare sub-consultant contracts.
Meet with client Project Managers and key client employees to keep them abreast of project progress.
Submit request for change orders promptly.
Review the quality of the work and productivity of each assigned person on a regular basis.
Recommend corrective steps to Billing Group Managers and/or Department Managers when warranted.
Seek to participate in non-project, departmental or corporate activities which are organized to improve the operational and business success of FPA.
Review job cost data on a weekly basis. Take corrective steps immediately if warranted.
Initiate billing for each project on a schedule compatible with client requirements, but no less than at least once per month.
Assist in making sure that client receivables are collected on time, based on a specific goal established for each respective client.
Make sure that project files are maintained in accordance with FPA Document Retention Policy.
Recommend changes to policies and procedures related to FPA, or department.
Qualifications
10+ years of experience in Site Engineering and Land Development.
Bachelor's degree in civil engineering.
Must have New Jersey PE License.
Must have experience testifying before municipal Boards as an expert witness on behalf of clients to advance project approvals.
Must demonstrate a high level of business acumen and have a successful track record of cross-selling multi-discipline services.

Job Summary
The Construction Manager plays a critical project leadership role in the deployment of telecommunications infrastructure. Project Superintendents will work in a complementary team association with Project Managers providing clients with the extra value beyond the performance of two individuals. In this position you will be the PROTECS representative with the responsibility and authority for daily coordination and direction of the project so that it is safe, within budget, on schedule, in accordance with quality standards, and meets the customer's satisfaction. The superintendent develops a plan to construct the project and ensure that the daily and weekly activities are consistent with this plan in a safe and professional manner. The Project Superintendent's focus is toward day-to-day and week-to-week activities coordinating with schedule updates, project management issues, production, and reporting.
Requirements: 5+ years as an assistant superintendent or field project engineer level or equivalent field experience and degree or educational training. Experience is relevant only from a Design/Build or construction management firm specializing in highly technical projects, such as life science or medical device.

Demonstrated knowledge and capability to successfully execute projects in excess of $5MM
Knowledge of field risk management and risk mitigation

Typical Activities:
Maintains overall responsibility for subcontractor site operations, safety, means, methods, progress, quality, schedule progress and tracking, job coordination, manpower accommodations, etc. to ensure steady work progress.

Facilitate and ensure site safety training
Tracks, maintains, directs all lift plan operations

Administration of hot work permit process
Recording of daily log of work and crews on site
Progress photos
Logging of work progress on drawings
Lead/direct assistant staff members
Attend and participate in sub PM meetings
Lead and document foreman meetings
Maintain daily logs, JPSAs, safety records and other project field documentation.
Attend and participate in weekly scheduled owner meetings
Provide and maintain field sketches, RFIs, transmittals, project logs, as built documents, and drawing issues.
Ensure site logistics are adhered to
Maintain schedule as a high priority and push all efforts in field to meet or beat the schedule
Maintain site files and documents
Ensure as-builts are being properly recorded
Ensure lay-out work by trades is proper and in conformance with the project documents
Manage project risk by ensuring proper means and methods are being instituted on the project
Resolve field coordination issues
Responsible for coordinating programming with site plant personnel
Maintain relationship with site plant personnel
Manage field issues and RFI type matters to ensure the timely completion of the work
Verify work is installed per design and approved submittals
Assist with development of punch list and oversee subcontractor completion of punch list activities.

Responsibilities
• Assist in preconstruction activities on projects; scope development, scheduling and estimating
• Orchestrate a plan from the beginning of construction to completion of the project, including accurately projecting construction activities for scheduling purposes
• Interpret drawings, details of drawings, and specifications
• Achieve objectives through direction of individuals, teams and subcontractors
• Work with senior management to track job progress and costs
• Complete daily reports and safety inspections
• Submit all documentation as required
• Direct, coordinate, and facilitate meetings for owners, subcontractors, architects and local authorities
• Manage all punch list items. Ensure that all outstanding punch list items are completed on time
• Identify potential sales opportunities and communicate them to senior management
• Demonstrate positive and courteous interpersonal skills in all work environments
• Provide general estimates for construction materials
• Perform other related duties as assigned
Qualifications

• High school diploma required. Bachelors degree in construction management or related field preferred.
• A minimum of 10 years work experience as a commercial construction superintendent.
• Excellent communication skills.
• First Aid/CPR certification required.
• Must have a valid driver's license.
• Must complete 30h OSHA training.
• Fluency with Microsoft Word, Excel and other software packages
• Ability to conceptualize the “big picture” from blueprints and construction drawings, and translate that vision into a well-constructed facility.
