Primary Responsibilities Include:
Hold daily tailgate meetings. All crew will attend and participate in the tailgate, as well as be ready for work in the proper PPE. At the tailgate, site hazards and key Safe Behaviors will be discussed, and a visual PPE inspection will be conducted.
Daily Permit to Work/AHA: Discuss with the entire crew the day's activities and hazards associated with each task.
Review & assign all daily individual field task assignments
Ensure equipment and tool inspections are conducted daily, to ensure equipment and tools are in good order, at all times.
Maintain accurate daily notes and field logs (in Site Docs).
Responsible for coordinating and scheduling required subcontractors for each project
Responsible for determining materials needed and timing of delivery to perform work
Responsible for performing daily reporting of labor, equipment, and material utilization, along with daily production (essential for tracking daily job costs).
Review the approved budget against actual job costs and production factors with the Project Manager.
Responsible for knowing the scope of work and identifying change order conditions
Perform H&S-re Iated activities.
All other duties as assigned by Management that are project/company related.
Qualifications:
Experience in supervising construction projects
Ability to set priorities and exercise flexibility where necessary
Ability to read and understand Plans, Specifications, schematics, and other construction documents
Ability to check grade and verify elevations using a laser
Understanding proper safety procedures and recognition of hazards
Must be capable of managing multiple tasks under time constraints
Must be flexible and willing to work overtime as needed, including weekends.

Essential Duties
Work on behalf of, and in concert, with the Hensel Phelps Construction Co. teams.
Interface, coordinate, and directly manage the associated MEPF trade partners through plan development, inspections, and ultimately the Cx testing process.
Competency surrounding the utilization of all standard MEPF/building controls testing procedures and applicable tools and equipment to perform this testing.
Manage a team of individuals to deliver the Operational Project Readiness (OPR) and be the primary driver of the Commissioning Management (CxM) services on multiple projects.
Review contract documents (design drawings, submittals, shop drawings, specifications, etc) for program/project understanding, constructability, operability, and functionality requirements.
Develop a project-specific commissioning plan and project execution plan per Hensel Phelps' templates and in accordance with the Contract Documents.
Develop and maintain Cx schedule based upon the CPM milestones and in the scheduling program required by the Contract Documents.
Establish testing/certification requirements for each piece of equipment for documentation management through Cx software platform.
Review Level 2 and 3 Cx Scripts
Oversee implementation of Cx progress visual tracking/status tools
Develop agenda and lead project Cx team meetings communicating the Cx schedule, sequencing, constraints, and issues.
Documentation of MEPF equipment inspections and testing. Track and drive issue resolution to support the start-up and commissioning process.
Oversee the management and document control of the Cx progress via the commissioning software platform
Coordinate and manage the Level 4/5 Cx testing on behalf of Hensel Phelps Construction Co.

Duties
Take responsibility for the onsite construction of assigned projects including:
Coordinating subcontractors or multi-primes
Maintaining a positive relationship with Owners, Architects, Consultants, and Contractors
Managing and supervising self-performed work items
Processing requests for clarifications
Updating as-built drawings
Tracking costs and other items required to properly supervise the construction process
Developing initial project schedule and update on regular basis throughout the project
Assuring that progress photos are taken throughout the course of construction
Assuring that daily reports are accurately and promptly prepared
Complying with contract documents. Assure that the quality of materials and workmanship complies with applicable specifications and standards
Reviewing shop drawings and submittals to ensure proper coordination of the work
Assisting Project Manager in identifying and estimating changes in the work
Taking the lead in implementing the project and company safety plans
Working with the Project Manager assigned to the project as required
Requirements
Minimum of 5 years of Commercial. Public Works experience preferred
Excellent attention to detail and facility with numbers
Ability to prioritize and multi-task, in a busy job site environment
Ability to resolve issues independently based on project/company standards and verification of facts prior to releasing documents to the client or outside agencies
Good judgment, logic, and ability to learn new things quickly
Must have good communication, teamwork, and organizational skills
Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite. Procore, and MS Project scheduling software a plus
A valid driver's license and acceptable driving history are required

The Area Superintendent coaches, evaluates, and trains staff and field workers in the performance of landscape construction services.
**You'd be responsible for:**
+ Coach, evaluate, and train field workers in the performance of landscape construction services
+ Ensure that all field workers and jobsites are safe from hazards and that proper PPE and safety policies are enforced.
+ Inspect all field work; analyze and resolve problems
+ Manage labor force to ensure labor budgets are on track
+ Maintain accurate daily and weekly Foremen and Superintendent activity logs; update production tracking reports and generate other related reports as needed
+ Coach and manage Continues Improvement, (CI) rhythms
+ Review daily labor coding and production quantity input and make any necessary adjustments
+ Dispatch labor and equipment to job sites
+ Manage equipment utilization on projects, equipment storage and maintenance
+ Ensure that all construction services are delivered according to contract specifications, within the labor budget and on schedule
+ Meet and exceed the expectations and requirements of external and internal customers -
+ work with staff to ensure same
+ Work collaboratively with others; foster a positive "people oriented" environment
+ Evaluate employee safety data and promote safe work practices and conditions; ensure employees attend weekly safety meetings
+ Demonstrate role model behaviors on ethics and integrity and promoting company culture
**You might be a good fit if you have:**
+ Minimum of 5 years' experience with landscape, concrete, irrigation and construction
+ production techniques
+ Proficient with computer software programs including MS Office (Word, Excel, and Outlook), superintendent management software, and PlanGrid
+ Bilingual (Spanish) highly preferred
+ Expert knowledge of construction tools, machinery and equipment
+ Strong work ethic and effective verbal and written communication skills
+ Ability to prioritize and multi-task in a fast-paced environment

Construction Assistant Superintendent
candidates to join our West Coast Field Operations team for military projects located in San Diego County. Headquarter/Office assignment will be in Carlsbad, but specific construction project could be anywhere in San Diego County.
Assistant Superintendents are responsible for assisting the Superintendent in overseeing the daily supervision, direction, and coordination of assigned construction work activities, employees, and subcontractors on a project jobsite to safely produce quality work, within project requirements (i.e., RFP, plans, specifications, and proposal documents) targeted budget, schedule, and in alignment with RQ's Mission, Vision, and Values. Our Assistant Superintendents are require to work on projects, all of which require access to a military installation.
Pay: $85,000-$115,000 annually (depends on experience)

Ideal Candidates will have the following experience:
A high school diploma or GED is the minimum formal education required for this position.
College courses in construction management, engineering, etc. preferred.
Three or more years work experience in a lead Foreman position (e.g., scheduling, ordering, field supervision, quality control, safety, and production of all phases in construction) on medium or large projects is required.
Three or more years (or equivalent) field or trade work experience is in the construction industry highly desirable; government, military, or large commercial construction experience preferred. Work in the design-build industry is preferred.
Computer literacy (Microsoft Office, Outlook, Internet, etc.) required. Training can be provided.
Specific software literacy (Primavera 3/6, Viewpoint, BIM, Revit) preferred. Training can be provided.
CPR, First Aid, and OSHA 30-hour Certifications, EM-385, and STS required; Training can be provided.
LEED GA Credential desirable.
