Primary responsible for the supervision and outcome of all the self-performed concrete work on various projects completed by Hammer Construction, Inc. This position generally performs work at construction job sites with regular exposure to all weather conditions including heat, cold, rain, and snow; with occasional work in controlled office environment. Various types of concrete projects apply, flat work experience, and pier experience (6-62 inch wide and 20-30 feet deep). Regular travel by motor vehicle and some overnight travel may be required.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Schedule and direct day to day on-site supervision of field labor forces on assigned project(s).
Schedule and coordinate pump trucks, concrete, material, and equipment deliveries as needed per assigned project(s).
Maintain a safe working environment for yourself and your crews.
Coordinate equipment, tools, and material needed for crews to be successful.
Review and approve timecards and completed quantities daily.
Monitor and communicate production goals to the crews.
Create and maintain workplans with the general superintendent and project teams. Going over the project, cost, productions, schedule, on-site issues, and execution plan.
Identify potential problems on the project(s) in advance to work starting so to not hinder production or schedule. Work with Project Manager to develop RFI or change orders.
Conduct quality inspections with the project team.
Coordinate site testing and inspection efforts.
Monitor costs, including labor time and material.
Communicate and enforce Safety and Health Management.
QUALIFICATIONS:
A minimum of 5 years of experience performing and supervising concrete work
Is currently certified or eligible to become certified as an American Concrete Institute Certified Concrete Flatwork Technician or a Certified Concrete Flatwork Technician and Finisher
Excellent Interpersonal Skills
Ability to work additional hours as necessary to meet business plan objectives and project schedules and deadlines
Ability to work on multiples projects and travel as necessary
Ability to perform work at elevation above ground level
A current, valid driver's license
MACHINES/TOOLS/EQUIPMENT:
Working knowledge of how to use manual and power operated equipment associated with concrete work including Total Station equipment, lasers and levels, concrete vibrators, walk behind and riding trowel machines, floors saw, etc. Need to know the proper use and operation of standard concrete tools and equipment and be very knowledgeable on the use of all concrete equipment. Basic computer skills including use of word and excel, basic office equipment (e.g. email, printer, fax, copier, calculator).

About the Role
The position is responsible for all activities at the construction site, including providing a safe and productive work environment, maintaining schedules, and ensuring projects stays within budgetary limits set forth by the estimate.
Candidates must have verifiable work experience as a superintendent, with additional construction experience required. Must understand schedules and be able to complete projects on time and on budget by tracking variances and cost projections. Essential Responsibilities:
Organizes, coordinates, and supervises the work of the assistant superintendent, field engineers, craft employees, and all subcontractors on construction projects. Acts as an adviser to the owner, design team, and all tradesmen associated with the project.
Determines work priorities, and coordinates work activities with all necessary parties to ensure that the project remains efficient and on schedule.
Oversees the terms and conditions of construction contracts.
Apportions work among employees and subcontractors according to project needs and coordinates work so that it maintains a smooth flow among the various trades.
Introduces new trades to the projects as the project requires them and collaborates with management of the various trades to ensure the work is carried out in a manner consistent with the project plans and specifications.
Provides a safe work environment through creating a culture of safety for the project and holding each individual on the project accountable for safe behavior. Regularly holds safety meetings and makes sure that the company's safety policies are being enforced.
Works as a liaison to the owner and coordinates plans and construction activities with the owner.
Sources material suppliers for consumables required to construct the project and estimates materials required for specific jobs. Orders materials and coordinates deliveries of materials to coincide with construction progress. Ensures that the materials for construction are on the project site as they are required and are stored in accordance with the manufacturer's recommendations. Coordinates materials staging are as between the various trades and monitors material deliveries.
Maintains inventory and control over the projects tools, materials, equipment, and security.
Writes and maintains a project's daily record in detail through daily reports. Communicates those reports to the office on a daily basis.
Holds, at minimum, weekly coordination meetings between all subcontractors who are currently on site and any that will be on site in the near future. Coordinates work flows, safety, environmental concerns, manpower requirements, materials requirements and overall schedule through these meetings.
Is responsible for the overall project schedule. Writes and maintains short term interval schedules for the use and review of all trades on the project. Included are all phases of work that are current and applicable. Maintains overall project schedule through implementation of the short term interval schedule.
Is responsible for quality control on the project: holds all works accountable for adherence to the project plans and specifications. Holds pre-installations meetings to review installation procedures for all major materials used and has a thorough understanding of the project specifications and industry standards for installation of all materials to be used. Pre-installation meetings include manufacturers representatives, required design team members, affect ed subcontractors, and if necessary the owners representative. Assures that the work adheres to the project plans, specifications, codes, and other governmental agencies requirements. Coordinates inspections and insures that testing is being performed per the contract documents.
Maintains project budget through management of all labor associated with the project. Tracks and monitors the labor force for productivity .
Manages company and rental equipment for maximum productivity and minimum cost.
Keeps accurate record of time for employees, accurately codes the time to the tasks completed and reports time to the office in a timely manner.
Coordinates and facilitates the closeout of the project. Is responsible to assure that all punch list items are completed in a timely manner and that the own er is satisfied with both the quality and timeliness of the project as it is completed.
Maintains a good relationship with the project manager and works as a team to complete the project.
Act as a mentor for subordinates and regularly reviews their performance and makes recommendations for improvements and wage adjustments.

Job Responsibilities
Provide onsite supervision and be responsible for the proper coordination and timeliness of the work and for the proper workmanship of all trades.
Provide safety oversight to ensure compliance with OSHA and EM 385-1-1 regulations.
Responsible for keeping a clean and safe working environment.
Schedule and coordinate all subcontractors and material suppliers.
Attend all pre- construction site visits, pre-final inspections, and final inspections.
Communicate and direct the efforts of those performing the work.
Conduct weekly or bi-weekly QC / Progress meetings.
Perform USACE EM385 three phases of control.
Required Qualifications
5+ years' experience performing as a project manager/superintendent for a general contracting firm overseeing multi-discipline commercial and industrial construction projects with a premium being placed on managing government construction projects.
Strong leadership abilities and interpersonal skills; excellent verbal and written communication.
Proficient ability to Read / Interpret blueprints and project specifications.
Computer literacy (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, MS Project, Bluebeam, etc.).
Ability to create project schedules, pre-construction, and product submittals are a plus as well. (Knowledge of MS Project, Primavera P6, Smartsheet).
OSHA 30-hour training with Five (5) years of continuous construction industry safety experience in supervising/ managing general construction (i.e., managing safety programs or processes, or conducting hazard analyses and developing controls)
First Aid/CPR.
Must have the ability to obtain a Security Clearance: Pass Background Check - Secret Clearance preferred.

About the Role
The position is responsible for all activities at the construction site, including providing a safe and productive work environment, maintaining schedules, and ensuring projects stays within budgetary limits set forth by the estimate.
Candidates must have verifiable work experience as a superintendent, with additional construction experience required. Must understand schedules and be able to complete projects on time and on budget by tracking variances and cost projections. Superintendents must have a proven track record supervising and coordinating all personnel including subcontractors and materials to prevent delays. Candidate selected must be highly motivated. Essential Responsibilities:
Organizes, coordinates, and supervises the work of the assistant superintendent, field engineers, craft employees, and all subcontractors on construction projects. Acts as an adviser to the owner, design team, and all tradesmen associated with the project.
Determines work priorities, and coordinates work activities with all necessary parties to ensure that the project remains efficient and on schedule.
Oversees the terms and conditions of construction contracts.
Apportions work among employees and subcontractors according to project needs and coordinates work so that it maintains a smooth flow among the various trades.
Introduces new trades to the projects as the project requires them and collaborates with management of the various trades to ensure the work is carried out in a manner consistent with the project plans and specifications.
Provides a safe work environment through creating a culture of safety for the project and holding each individual on the project accountable for safe behavior. Regularly holds safety meetings and makes sure that the company's safety policies are being enforced.
Works as a liaison to the owner and coordinates plans and construction activities with the owner.
Sources material suppliers for consumables required to construct the project and estimates materials required for specific jobs. Orders materials and coordinates deliveries of materials to coincide with construction progress. Ensures that the materials for construction are on the project site as they are required and are stored in accordance with the manufacturer's recommendations. Coordinates materials staging are as between the various trades and monitors material deliveries.
Maintains inventory and control over the projects tools, materials, equipment, and security.
Writes and maintains a project's daily record in detail through daily reports. Communicates those reports to the office on a daily basis.
Holds, at minimum, weekly coordination meetings between all subcontractors who are currently on site and any that will be on site in the near future. Coordinates work flows, safety, environmental concerns, manpower requirements, materials requirements and overall schedule through these meetings.
Is responsible for the overall project schedule. Writes and maintains short term interval schedules for the use and review of all trades on the project. Included are all phases of work that are current and applicable. Maintains overall project schedule through implementation of the short term interval schedule.
Is responsible for quality control on the project: holds all works accountable for adherence to the project plans and specifications. Holds pre-installations meetings to review installation procedures for all major materials used and has a thorough understanding of the project specifications and industry standards for installation of all materials to be used. Pre-installation meetings include manufacturers representatives, required design team members, affect ed subcontractors, and if necessary the owners representative. Assures that the work adheres to the project plans, specifications, codes, and other governmental agencies requirements. Coordinates inspections and insures that testing is being performed per the contract documents.
Maintains project budget through management of all labor associated with the project. Tracks and monitors the labor force for productivity .
Manages company and rental equipment for maximum productivity and minimum cost.
Keeps accurate record of time for employees, accurately codes the time to the tasks completed and reports time to the office in a timely manner.
Coordinates and facilitates the closeout of the project. Is responsible to assure that all punch list items are completed in a timely manner and that the own er is satisfied with both the quality and timeliness of the project as it is completed.
Maintains a good relationship with the project manager and works as a team to complete the project.
Act as a mentor for subordinates and regularly reviews their performance and makes recommendations for improvements and wage adjustments.
