The Site Superintendent will be assigned to Department of Defense (DoD) construction project(s) located in various regions. This individual will be responsible for directing, managing, supervising and coordinating the work and activities of the various trade groups on the work site to meet requirements as described in the statement of work or contracts.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Ensure that the project maintains the required schedule by organizing, planning, monitoring, and inspecting work.
Prepare schedules or assist scheduler for pay estimates and 3-week look ahead.
Prepare takeoff or assist project engineer with all required materials and ensure that materials and equipment are delivered to the site on time.
Assist project engineer in defining subcontract scope of work and verifying that the subcontractor is on the project when required and progress in accordance with the schedule.
Oversee that the activities of various workers do not interfere with one another.
Inspect the work of each trade and confirm that not only the quality of the work is up to standard, but that the work is being built in accordance with the plans and specifications.
Plan and run weekly progress meeting and assist in the performance of Quality Control preparatory meetings and inspection.
Assist with project estimates, bid packages, and schedule preparation and budgets.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS, SKILLS, AND EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS
A Bachelor's Degree from an accredited university in Construction Management, Construction Science, Architecture, or Engineering, with a minimum of three years' experience (within the last 10 years) as a Site Superintendent, in construction of the installation of work including petroleum, oil, and lubricants (POL) facilities, tank rehabilitation, tank cleaning and repairs and emergency inspection OR a minimum of eight years construction experience (within the last 10 years) as a Site Superintendent with training in engineering and construction management
Completion of the Construction for Quality Management for Contractor course
Working knowledge of applicable federal, state, and local laws, regulations, standards, codes, and guidance
DoD construction experience and experience as a Site Superintendent of projects in remote and/or austere environments is desirable
API 653 certification and/or API 570 desirable
KNOWLEDGE & ABILITIES
Must have strong interpersonal skills to be able to communicate work requirements with various staff and subcontractors
Able to communicate both written and verbally in English
Ability to be flexible and adapt to constant change
Knowledge of acceptable construction site practices including occupational safety and health regulations
Knowledge of applicable codes and regulation

Training and directing field crew and conducting performance evaluations
Maintaining job site security (i.e., ensure safety of all people, tools, and materials)
WHAT YOU NEED TO SUCCEED
To be successful as a Dowbuilt superintendent, you’ll need:
10 years of superintendent experience, 5 years high-end, custom residential
Experience working through design details and constructability challenges directly with architects and designers to achieve design intent
Degree in Construction Management or related field OR equivalent professional experience
Ability to read and interpret architectural drawings and specifications
Journeyman-level carpentry skills
Excellent communication, team-building and mentoring skills
Deep technical building knowledge and experience with both traditional and new materials and methods
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, Project
Experience with Sage 300 CRE is a plus, but not required
U.S. work authorization

· Managing labor relations with subcontractors and Healtheon staff.
· Implement inspections and associated testing, review, and approval.
· Ensuring all necessary permits and insurance are in place and kept current for the term of the project. Acting as liaison to inspection agencies.
· Managing the General Conditions and General Requirements for the project to maintain budget.
· Coordinating with the Project Manager to manage the billing process as it relates to work in place and overseeing the monthly estimate of work completed, payrolls, material invoices and subcontractor payment applications.
· Managing the work to ensure that it is installed in compliance with and conforms to the approved contract documents.
· Supervise all subcontractors who are on-site.
· Attend pre-construction meetings and weekly progress meetings with client, architect, engineers, and project team.
· Minimize delays through collaboration with the Project Manager at the onset of construction.
· Maintain good relationship and open lines of communication with the client and the project team.
· Provide accurate information documenting Daily Job Reports, Daily Safety Reports, 3-Week Look Ahead (weekly) and Incident/Accident Reports
· Maintain fiscal responsibility for labor and other miscellaneous expenses while proactively looking for ways to streamline tasks during projects.
· Experience with pile driving and marine construction.

Tutor Perini is the general contractor for the HART City Center Guideway and Stations project. The scope of the approximately $1.66 billion contract includes the design and construction of six rail stations and approximately three miles of elevated rail guideway beginning just east of the Middle Street Transit Center Station and ending at the Civic Center Station, which will be located just east of the intersection of Halekauwila Street and South Street in downtown Honolulu. Project design is expected to begin immediately while construction is estimated to commence in the second half of 2025. Construction of this segment is expected to be substantially completed in 2030.

**DESCRIPTION:**
As a **Superintendent** at Tutor Perini Corp., reporting to the **Project Manager,** you will have the opportunity to:
+ Supervise construction effort to ensure project is constructed safely in accordance with design, budget and schedule.
+ Assume responsibility for planning, coordinating and supervising onsite functions (scheduling, subcontractor coordination, etc.).
+ Assume responsibility for compliance of craft workers and subcontractors with contract requirements, efficient use of materials & equipment, site safety plan and timely performance of the project schedule.
+ Provide technical assistance, i.e., interpretation of drawings, recommending construction methods and equipment, etc., as required.
+ Assist project management in developing, project schedule, site logistics plan and implementing project procedures, working documents, standards, etc.
+ Support Site Specific Safety Plan.
+ Coordinate with on-site Owner employees.
+ Perform additional assignments per supervisor's direction.
**REQUIREMENTS:**
+ Highschool diploma or GED or 15 or more years of construction experience.
+ Experience as a superintendent on projects valued over $500M
+ Knowledge, skills and experience with U.S. construction methods, techniques, and standards.
+ Experience with City, State, Federal Government Clients preferred
+ Knowledge of contract management and familiarity with local trade/unions/craft.
+ Experienced in MS Word/Excel, Procure, Bluebeam, HCSS Heavy bid or similar software.
+ OSHA 500, certification, CPR & First Aid Certs
+ Excellent written and verbal skills.
+ Previous experience working on HART projects is preferred.

• Responsible for coordinating owner's vendors & equipment.
• Reviews all submittals.
• Takes leadership for punch list issuance and completion.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
• Ability to travel to various job sites throughout the state of Hawaii; ability to walk through the construction site during the construction phase and review subcontractor work at the job site in varying weather conditions, i.e. heat, cold and rain.
• Ability and willingness to work night shift.
• Ability to climb stairs, ladders and or scaffolding to verify and direct means and methods and verify work is in compliance with contract documents.
• Ability and willingness to operate a forklift and scissor lift
• While performing the duties of this job the employee is regularly required to sit, stand or walk.
• Employee may be required to work swing and/or night shifts to ensure that the project is on track and on schedule.

Position Responsibilities and Duties:
Able to complete all essential Senior Superintendent responsibilities.
Supervises, mentors, and trains field personnel in proper construction procedures, techniques, and sequence. Conducts employee performance evaluations for direct reports.
Participate in hiring activities, workforce planning, and coordinating job assignments of assigned personnel.
Oversees field activities, resource usage, coordination, and procedures of assigned project sites.

Oversee coordination of projects closeout process to ensure a successful turnover to owner.
Report on project status and field progress to maintain leadership informed.

Perform manual work in rare circumstances, as required.
Participate in business development activities including pursuits, estimating, and client interviews.

Minimum Requirements or Experience Requirements
Engineering, Construction Management, Architectural degree, or equivalent working experience
Extensive Field construction experience (8 years, including supervisory experience)
Experience in field operations leadership role with the ability to supervise multiple projects over a large geographic area as required by management
Working knowledge for all crafts (ability to read and understand specifications for trades),
Ability to train, coach, and develop others
Strong leadership skills, including negotiating, networking, partnering, delegating, and facilitating collaboration.
Problem-solving ability and strong sense of urgency
