POSITION DESCRIPTION
The Project Superintendent is responsible for managing the daily construction process for the project from permit approval through job completion and project turnover. They are assigned the authority to perform daily coordination and direction of all work so that it is safe, within budget, on schedule, to the company's quality standards and to the owner's satisfaction.
They are responsible for planning and scheduling daily activities, organizing trade partners and suppliers, procurement of materials, manpower of trade partners, deployment and coordination of equipment, and all safety, dust, and storm water management. Project Superintendent must also schedule and coordinate with Code Officials, as well as other construction professionals such as Architects, Engineers, 3
rd
Party Inspectors, which includes logging and management of RFI's and submittals as required. They will directly interact with supporting office staff such as Purchasing/Estimating, Accounting, and Senior Management. They are directly responsible for the overall quality and timeliness of the project.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Supervise and schedule all trade partners and/or other on-site personnel in person.
Responsible for productivity of all daily tasks, materials, and equipment.
Ensures that all on-site personnel comply with project guidelines, safety programs and requirements.
Verifies that all trade partners complete scope of work.
Conducts daily walks of site and project.
Ensures all parties are working off the most current drawings and specifications.
Maintains an active daily punch list of all items to be addressed through completion.
Maintains as-builts for long term documentation and use of Promontory's in house Facilities Department.
Generates and manages all RFI's and project submittals, with the help of Project Engineer.
Generates and maintains master construction schedule (updated monthly) in conjunction with 3-week look ahead schedules (updated weekly) for management review.
Maintains daily logs of project activity and photos through Procore.
Performs schedule risk assessments and potential building conflicts ahead of time to ensure building maintains schedule and budget.
Creates recovery plan for project delays.
Reviews and verifies weekly pay app requests from trade partners to valid work complete in the field and payment is not issued prior to work completion.
Documents all violations with project details, safety, storm water management and dust control, seeking corrective action and documenting proper completion.
Holds and directs weekly subcontractor meetings and on-site safety meetings.
Coordinates required inspections with local jurisdictions and ensures project is ready for inspections.
Ensures that the job site is always kept in a clean and organized manner.
Opening the jobsite at the beginning of the day and securing the jobsite at the end of the day.
Follows all company safety and security policies and procedures; report incidents, injuries, and unsafe work practices to management; complete safety training and certifications. Maintain files of Safety Data Sheets and follow safe work practices.

Qualifications
KNOWLEDGE SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
Bachelor's degree in construction management and/or minimum of 5 years related experience working on commercial projects.
Project experience as the
main superintendent.
Experience managing commercial projects up to $20 million dollars.
Extensive knowledge of construction industry practices, procedures, as well as local, state, and federal building codes, and reads blueprints accurately.
Provide direction to and resolve problems amongst 30+ trade partners and vendors.
Ability to identify deficient work and provide resolution.
Thorough and attentive to details; organizational skills and can run multiple tasks simultaneously.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Perform workplace inspections at projects under the direction of the manager of safety and complete a General Inspection Report, which will be provided to the site superintendent and head office. This is the most important function of a Superintendent of Safety.
Ensure that all new projects under your direction are provided with all the resources and mentoring necessary to ensure compliance with the Cementation Policies and Procedures, as well as local and provincial or territorial jurisdictions.
Assist in the development of Health and Safety Policies.
Audit project sites and the site Safety & Training coordinators to ensure compliance with the Cementation Safety Management System and Training Programs.
Provide vacation relief as required to field projects they are responsible for
Assist in the development of written job procedures for all tasks being performed at a project.
Review all policies and procedures with the Manager of Safety before implementation.
May be required to conduct a refresher, on a yearly basis, of the Basic Health and Safety Policy and Safety Management System with all the appropriate workers.
Review, with the appropriate workers, the written job procedures and keep a record of the training on file.
Assist site management in resolving any training concerns.
Attend any required training courses appropriate to the position or safety conferences related to the mining environment, participate on committees and sub-committees, attend Safety Association meetings as requested by the Corporate Manager - Health & Safety.
Conduct Job Observations along side of the trainer on each worker based on the worker's training requirements and sign the worker off on the appropriate mining modules.
Conduct a Training Needs Analysis for each Cementation worker who requires training.

Communicate with Head Office personnel with respect to registration of any new workers and of the successful modules which the Cementation workers may have completed.
Ensure that project sites under your direction maintain an up-to-date training matrix.
Issue related training documents.
Coordinate First Aid and C.P.R. Training and refresher training for all the workers, supervisors, superintendents and site managers.
Coordinate the training for each for projects under your direction for Supervisors in the Supervisory Common Core and provide Supervisor Orientation on newly hired or promoted Supervisors.

This position will be required to travel when necessary. A valid US Passport and authorization to travel internationally is required.

All training documentation and inspection reports will be filled out in a timely. fashion. A copy of the original will be placed in the employee's file, and the original will be kept at Head Office.
