Principal Function:
The Bar Supervisor is responsible for ensuring that guests receive an exceptional level of service by supervising staff and supporting the beverage operations at all points of sale. They will assign tasks and delegate responsibilities to Quick Serve Leads and will monitor servers as they provide a variety of pre-made or fresh-to-order snacks, beverages and entrée items from Sodexo Live!'s menu.
Their top priority will be to ensure that the highest levels of cleanliness and sanitation are maintained. Style of service may be either take-away, restaurant-style or in-seat service format. They will circulate throughout assigned locations within the venue's levels, decks and concourses to monitor service within kiosks, mobile stands, permanent stand fixtures or cafes/bistros. They are responsible for ensuring that alcohol is being served responsibly throughout their assigned locations and for ensuring that Sodexo Live!'s standards for handing monetary transactions are consistently in place.
The Bar Supervisor will plan and prepare in advance of games or events, will provide hands on supervision during events and will organize post-event closing and clean up.
Essential Responsibilities:
Implement operational plan for each event for all bar staff, as directed.
Assist in receiving product for the bar department.
Ensure proper procedures are followed for all bars when reporting requisitions, transfers, stand sheets and banks.
Ensure additional revenue requests and spillage sheets are disbursed; Control and supervise any supplies being taken to bars from bar cage or liquor room area.
Ensure bars are placed in appropriate locations according to event requirements.
Assist with diagrams and logistics for bar events, including power needs, tables, portable bars, etc.
Ensure that all bartenders are present, in proper uniform and that all are well groomed.
Provide consistent floor supervision during events; Monitor flow of service and maintain continuous communication with other operating departments
Qualifications/Skills: Required:
High school diploma or equivalent.
1-2 years supervisory experience in a food service environment preferred, with previous bar experience.
Demonstrated ability to understand and effectively implement written and verbal instructions.
Strong team orientation and ability to work with a variety of departments to accomplish assigned tasks.
Ability to work well independently.
Ability to work well in a high stress, fast paced environment.
Ability to perform mathematical calculations, to include addition, subtraction, multiplication and division.
Must be able to speak, read, write and understand the primary language(s) used by guests who typically visit the work location.
Technology aptitude for working with automated inventory system.
Scheduling flexibility to meet operational needs. Hours may be extended or irregular to include nights, weekends and holidays.
