Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems has an opening for a Manager Supply Chain 1 to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals within our Global Supply Chain organization. This leadership role is onsite in Clearfield, Utah. The position will support our 4/10 B shift with a standard work schedule of Monday - Thursday from 4:00pm - 2:00am, but may shift based on business needs.

The Manager Supply Chain 1 oversees the coordination of schedules for the production floor as well as ensuring the flow of parts, materials, and assemblies between departments is done in a timely manner. They will make certain that the manufacturing process operates efficiently and reliably with assistance from the expediting group. Part of their responsibilities includes the estimation and agreement of timescales with the clients and the other managers. You will support driving supplier delivery performance, set execution targets, and track performance in support of achieving program financial goals. A successful candidate will be ready to lead multi-disciplined teams in a variety of complex tasks while also developing process improvements and creating the tools necessary for exceptional performance.
Key Responsibilities:
Manage team to company goals with KPI's
Oversees the day-to-day workflow of production staff
Conducts performance evaluations that are timely and constructive
Handles discipline and termination of employees as needed and in accordance with company policy
Maintain acceptable inventory accuracy levels through process controls on manufacturing floor
Develop trend analysis tools examining WIP and inventory which effectively signal abnormality within the process and provide guidance to correction
Monitor each programs plan and actuals to ensure optimal line balancing, WIP control, and elimination of over production
Basic Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree with 4 years of experience in supply chain management, project management, manufacturing, logistics and/or warehousing, OR a Master's Degree with 2 years of experience in supply chain management, project management, manufacturing, logistics and/or warehousing OR High School Diploma/Equivalent with 8 years of experience in supply chain management, project management, manufacturing, logistics and/or warehousing
Must have a minimum of 2 year of experience leading a team, process, and/or projects
At minimum, an active DoD Secret level clearance is required to apply and to start the role, with the ability to obtain and maintain Special Program Access within a reasonable amount of time as determined by the Company to meet its business needs (prior to starting)

Here's what you need:

Responsible for organizing, directing, and controlling the materials management, production planning, purchasing, shipping/receiving, warehousing and inventory control in support of the operation.
Prepares and manages planning processes and master scheduling regarding production materials used in the manufacturing of customer products, WIP materials flow, procurement systems and shipping.
Establish and document supply chain policies, procedures, and metrics to improve efficiency and transparency.
Oversee receiving, material handling, and shipping to ensure accuracy, timeliness, and quality.
Partner with production and production development teams to enable alignment of materials with production schedules
Drive improvements and standardization in daily / weekly / monthly planning processes
Monitor and track supplier performance through Quality and OTD (On-Time Delivery). Ensure effective corrective action plans are implemented when needed.
Drives improvements for material management, obsolete and excess inventory, material shortages, etc. Develop and track metrics as needed.
Work closely with the Master Scheduler, Incoming Quality Control, and the Production Manager to track metrics for production releases and other factors that affect scheduling and material flow.
Manage team performance through metrics development, annual reviews, recommendations for hire and disciplinary actions.
Improve the accuracy of planning attributes and proficiency of the D365 (ERP system)
Collaborate with internal stakeholders to ensure accurate forecasting and planning of materials and products.
Foster a culture of accountability, continuous improvement, and problem-solving
Perform other job-related duties as assigned.
Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in supply chain management, Business Administration or related field. MBA or advanced degree preferred
Minimum 7 years of experience in Supply Chain related roles such as production planning, inventory deployment, and warehouse management.
Lean/Six Sigma qualification (Six Sigma Green Belt or higher) is a plus. APICS certification (CSCP / CPIM) a plus
Strong knowledge of procurement, logistics, inventory management, and production planning.
Process improvement and change management experience essential
Strong data processing skills with the ability to create clear and concise reports from large data sets
Excellent communication skills (both oral and written) and demonstrated capacity to distill complicated processes into simple messages.
Experience with leading teams of various levels of experience.
Strong Project Management Skills and ability to manage numerous projects at once, in a fast-paced environment.

How will you make an impact?
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Supply Chain Continuous Improvement Project Manager to join our organization. This role will drive the implementation of PPI programs & projects across the BPG supply chain team. In this role, you will collaborate with supply chain & BPG PPI leadership to mature PPI, driving a problem solving and continuous improvement culture. This role will develop PPI programs for supply chain team members to engage in improvement initiatives in both daily & project focused work. You will assess PPI knowledge & skills and collaborate with PPI & SC leaders to educate the broader teams on employing practical process improvement. Additionally, this role will lead the PPI project funnel for supply chain working across teams to identify and implement process improvement initiatives while measuring engagement and impact of this work through the publication of performance metrics.
What will you do?
Develop PPI programs that will drive engagement of continuous improvement initiatives across supply chain teams. Build lean capability and streamline processes to elevate customer & employee experience, enable growth, improve costs and drive efficiency. Create an inclusive culture of PPI across the supply chain team, using Thermo Fisher PPI tools to train & coach teams.
Work closely with supply chain leadership & cross functional partners to identify and implement the BPG supply chain productivity project funnel aligned with strategic objectives.
Launch PPI involvement programs for the BPG supply chain team. Create programs that enable team members who are interested in expanding their PPI skills to participate in training, lead improvement initiatives. Drive engagement across the broader team in identifying & implementing quick win improvement opportunities.
Facilitate the PPI project prioritization & resourcing mechanisms. Partner with Finance personnel to evaluate project savings estimates, validate reported PPI benefits, and ensure accurate accounting of supply chain productivity.
Lead project teams implementing process/data improvement initiatives, ensuring clear goals, timelines, and deliverables are established and achieved.
Accelerate the cultural change through the development and publication of key performance indicators/metrics demonstrating progress of initiatives.
Identify areas of opportunity for improvement/growth and support teams on implementation of these opportunities.
Collaborate with partners to gain consensus and support for process improvement initiatives. Train, coach and develop teams to ensure system improvements are sustained and the team members are running the processes independently. Effectively lead change to ensure successful implementation.
Stay abreast of new developments in business process improvement methodology and practices, including learning from other sites, market leaders and industries.
