Website: **************************** About the Role The Inventory Planner is responsible for managing the inventory lifecycle, pricing, promotions across all North America channels, ensuring optimal stock allocation, margin optimization, and sales performance. This role maximizes stock efficiencies by crafting inventory strategies for the business post full price lifecycle. This role requires a strategic thinker with strong analytical skills to develop and execute inventory strategies aligned with global brand objectives while addressing regional market needs. The position reports to the Planning Manager and collaborates closely with Merchandise Planning, Retail Operations, Wholesale, and Paris HQ teams. Responsibilities Collaborate with Planning and Wholesale team to execute product initiatives post Full price season. Develop and execute inventory strategies post full-price lifecycle to optimize stock and margins. Own allocation strategy and process for markdown and promotional phases. Monitor SKU- and size-level stock to maintain healthy inventory across all channels. Manage inventory targets for both front-of-house and back-of-house capacities. Partner with store leadership to identify regional opportunities and drive sales. Support new store openings and allocations in collaboration with the Store Development team. Analyze and report on inventory performance to North America and Global teams. Align inventory strategies with global objectives and regional market needs. Achieve or exceed sales, gross margin, and inventory turn goals. Produce weekly reporting and analysis, including FP vs. MD performance and special initiatives. Qualifications Bachelor's degree required. 4-5 years of experience in retail planning, inventory management, or supply chain; multichannel experience preferred. Strong proficiency in retail math and advanced Excel skills (vlookups, pivot tables, sumifs). Experience with planning systems (e.g., Autone, JDA/BlueYonder, SAP) a plus. Highly analytical, detail-oriented, and comfortable working at a granular level. Excellent communication skills and ability to build cross-functional partnerships. THE OPPORTUNITY The Trade organization is a division of Scholastic Inc. which publishes on average 600 titles/SKUs per year and maintains a backlist of 8K+ titles/SKUs with purchases of +/-$100M per year. The Analyst, Inventory Planning, will team with the Senior Manager of Inventory Management, in the management of inventory decisions for all Trade-parented products, both frontlist and backlist. This individual will gather, analyze, review, and summarize key data elements and create appropriate reports for assessing print decisions across the business.
