Our process digests cow manure, creating biogas that is purified into pipeline quality renewable natural gas that can be used in a variety of ways. The digestion of the manure mitigates the amount of greenhouse gases emitted from dairy lagoons. Novilla RNG is rapidly expanding with 5 projects in operation and two new construction projects in South Dakota with December 2026 COD goals. General Summary The Supply Chain Manager is responsible for sourcing, bidding, procurement, and vendor management in support of Novilla RNG's dairy RNG projects. This role plays a critical part in controlling project costs, ensuring material availability, and supporting construction schedules through effective purchasing, supplier relationships, and purchase order management. The Supply Chain Manager works closely with Engineering, Construction, Project Management, and Finance teams to manage competitive bidding, issue and track purchase orders, coordinate deliveries, and maintain visibility into procurement status across multiple active projects. Principal Duties and Responsibilities This role includes direct supervision of one supply chain team member and works closely with Engineering, Construction, Operations, and Finance departments to support both new construction projects and existing operating RNG facilities. Your Main Responsibilities As the Supply Chain Manager at Merit Manufacturing, you'll lead the charge in ensuring the smooth flow of materials and components that power our production floor. You'll manage a small but mighty team of buyers responsible for issuing and tracking supplier POs, and you'll take ownership of our supplier relationships to ensure they're strong, strategic, and beneficial to both sides. You'll also analyze gross margin performance by brand and product, and fight for profitability in every negotiation. This role is about foresight, agility, and unrelenting customer focus. Lead Our Supply Chain Operations: Manage the procurement and inbound logistics of raw materials and packaging components to ensure production never misses a beat. Manage a Team of Buyers: Guide, support, and develop a team responsible for creating and tracking supplier purchase orders. Champion Customer Satisfaction: Work cross-functionally with production and sales teams to stay aligned on timelines and needs. You'll ensure our materials arrive on time and help us always surpass expectations. Own Supplier Relationships: Build and maintain collaborative, mutually beneficial partnerships with key suppliers-while always protecting our company's interests. Track and Drive Profitability: Regularly review and report gross margin performance by brand and product. You'll identify cost-saving opportunities and fight for the financial health of the company. Anticipate and Prevent Disruptions: Identify delays, breakdowns, or risks in the supply chain before they hit. You'll find solutions, expedite materials, and act fast to keep production on track. Are you Qualified? 5+ years of experience in supply chain management, procurement, or materials planning-ideally in the personal care, cosmetics, or consumer goods industry. Experience managing a procurement team and overseeing vendor relationships. Strong negotiation skills and a proven ability to balance cost, quality, and timing. Deep understanding of gross margin analysis and product-level profitability. Excellent problem-solving instincts and ability to thrive in a fast-paced, customer-driven environment. Effectively lead and optimize supply chain operations. Responsible for developing robust supply chain strategies that enhance productivity, minimize costs, and improve overall performance. Drive demand forecasting and planning to ensure profitable inventory levels that meet business objectives. Manage the efficient flow of products between vendors, warehouse, labs, and stores. Foster a culture of continuous improvement and innovation throughout inventory management processes and supply chain systems implementations. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: SUPPLY CHAIN OPERATIONS Analyze and report on sales patterns, customer demand, and market trends to continuously enhance forecasting accuracy and inventory planning Partner with Demand Planner, Warehouse Manager, and stockroom teammates to develop and track KPIs related to demand accuracy, inventory turnover, stockouts, and fill rates. Provide regular reports to senior leadership Work with finance and retail to forecast inventory needs and adjust purchasing plans based on changing sales projections Develop and maintain an inventory management system that aligns with growth projections; oversee stock levels, balance on-demand printing and traditional inventory to efficiently meet demand, manage cash flow, and mitigate risk associated with forecast uncertainty Develop and manage a scalable system for order intake and fulfillment timelines; ensure seamless operations during peak seasons. Hire and oversee seasonal contractors Analyze performance, identify savings, utilize reporting and forecasting, and ensure data accuracy using tools like SAP, Excel, and SQL Collaborate on vendor selection to meet quality and performance standards Handle daily vendor interactions. Manage purchase orders to ensure on-time delivery, drive quality control and cost effective solutions. Cross-functional collaboration with merchandising and lab to align on order timelines, and customer communication strategies.
