Supply chain director job description

Lovejoy, a company in the Timken family of brands, is looking to hire a Director of Supply Chain. The purpose of this position is to lead the supply chain team for the Lovejoy business. This position is responsible for all the supply chain functions for the business. Supply chain functions include strategic sourcing, procurement, supplier management, planning & scheduling, inventory management, warehousing, and logistics. These functions span the full value creation cycle from raw material through delivery to the customer. This position reports to the president of the business and is a key contributor to the business planning process and establishing a long-term strategic direction. Essential Responsibilities:

Develop and maintain a high-performing organization through the selection, development, motivation, and leadership of supply chain team members.

Lead the Sales, Inventory, and Operations Planning (SIOP) process to drive operational alignment with customer demand.

Lead strategic sourcing activities to ensure robustness of supply and reduce overall supply chain costs.

Manage procurement activities for direct and indirect materials, and lead supplier performance management activities.

Develop production schedules that support exceptional customer service levels and overall operational efficiency.
Manage warehousing and all shipping and receiving functions. Lead inventory management processes to ensure efficient flow of material, appropriate inventory levels and global stocking positions. Leverage SAP system and integrated applications to optimize business processes through detailed knowledge of the applications and strict management of data integrity. Continually refine overall supply chain design and implement processes, from supplier to customer, that ensure optimal operational efficiency and cost performance. Reporting to the Sector Vice President of Supply Chain accountable for integrated supply chain management and Procurement supporting the $5B Electronic Systems (ES) Sector which is comprised of approximately $2B+ of direct/indirect procurement. The ES Sector spans 25 locations primarily in the United States and the United Kingdom. The primary responsibilities of this role include managing overall compliance to company policy and industry regulations associated with procurement and material management.Other duties include supplier engagement, procurement, subcontracts, supply chain planning and logistics. Both Direct and Indirect Commodity strategies are led Sector wide with execution distributed through seven Business Areas.
Key areas of ownership:
Maintaining our procurement systems and processes to be compliant with complex regulatory requirements governing both our commercial avionics and defense electronics businesses. Lead the indirect procurement teams across the Sector to support all of the required needs of the business Responsible for managing the small business team to ensure we are compliant to all Government small business requirements. Manage the Operations proposal group to ensure are proposal support business area timelines and we submit fully compliant proposals Provide overall supply chain support to the Sector as part of the Deputy Director role.

Focal Point role.Demonstrated ability to collaborate with key stakeholders and subject matter experts to yield strategic outsourcing solutions Extensive experience in Government DoD procurement compliance, overall knowledge of supply chain and how it operates in both commercial and defense contract environments, production and development programs, subcontracts, and procurement Excellent relationship / interpersonal skills; demonstrated ability to foster and grow relationships with supplier executives

Required Education, Experience, & Skills


Experience in a large, complex multifaceted electronics design & manufacturing environment Familiarity with defense aerospace industry & regulations and the Understanding of the role of subcontractors in complex industries. Experience leading major procurement efforts in a Department of Defense (DOD) contracting environment.
Knowledge of FAR and DFAR regulations and the nature of flow down requirements. Knowledge of ITAR (International Traffic in Arms Regulation) and EAR (Export Administration Regulation) Understanding/knowledge of CPSR audits and requirements. Comprehensive understanding of subcontractor solicitations and bid analysis/process. Strong working experience generating, negotiating and executing major subcontracts/purchases. Demonstrated ability to resolve contractual conflicts with subcontractors through negotiations and contractual vehicles. Project / Supplier Management Financial Acumen Proven leadership and organizational change experience Ability to motivate and manage personnel. Excellent verbal and written communication Excellent time management/organizational skills Strong experience managing Subcontracts or Procurement team. Strategic/Critical Thinking Ability to find win-win solutions; a "make it happen" attitude.
Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite (Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook). Bachelor's Degree in related discipline and 10 years or more of directly related work experience preferably in a government-contracting environment. U.S. Citizenship

Director, Supply Chain Finance - (22010639) Description Demonstrated ability to operate as a strategic operating partner to executive supply chain leadership. Proven ability to deliver clear and concise analysis and insights to senior management. Working knowledge of transportation, logistics and warehouse networks, with experience in optimizing network to deliver lowest landed cost outcomes for the business. Ability to set, communicate, develop goals and objectives to further enable the Supply Chain strategy. Experience in optimizing both operational and financial end-to-end forecast processes. Successful candidate will be a collaborative leader with a high degree of emotional intelligence and the ability to collaborate, inspire and empower within a culture of accountability.
1. Primary point of contact / finance liaison with Supply Chain senior management.
2. Supervise the supply chain FP&A team.
3. Understand the drivers and impact of transportation market factors on inbound and outbound freight costs to drive decisions to achieve financial goals; Integrate inbound and outbound freight forecasting processes.
4. Strategically partner with Transportation team to review supplier efficiency on inbound operations and recommend alternative approaches to merchandising team on order placement and vendor consolidation.
5. Support the development of strategic business cases and long-range financial performance improvement targets.
6. Facilitate the review of capital expenditures associated with the Supply Chain network.
7. Create and manage forecast, annual plan, and long-range model for supply chain costs; Translate sales forecasts into accurate carton working forecast for Supply Chain and stores.
8. Track and monitor key metrics and their impact on financial performance.
Qualifications 1. Bachelor's / Master's degree in finance, economics, or related field.
2. 5+ years of supply chain or other operational finance experience required.
3. 10+ years of progressive people-leadership experience.
