Education, Qualifications and Experience:

Supports and manages all subcontracted and purchased material for the Armament Systems Business Unit. As a Business Supply Chain Engineer, you will have the opportunity to tap into your curiosity and collaborate with some of the most innovative people around the world. Here, you will make an impact by:
Leading process development and process validation, developing cost estimates and manufacturing plans, and leading manufacturing scale-up for new product introductions.
Lead and support Continual Improvement efforts aligned to Division strategies, improving Supply Chain Architecture and Value Stream Execution for assigned value streams.
Identifying, justifying, and implementing technology advancements for new and existing products to improve process capability, value stream performance, and total product cost.
Identifying and leading cost reduction projects requiring cross functional teamwork and global manufacturing site collaboration.
Willingness to maintain flexible hours and travel to support manufacturing and value stream improvement activities across global manufacturing operations.
Your Skills and Expertise
To set you up for success in this role from day one, 3M requires (at a minimum) the following qualifications:
Bachelor's degree or higher (completed and verified prior to start)
Three (3) years of combined experience in one or more of the following: process engineering, product engineering, manufacturing engineering, or capital engineering in a private, public, government or military environment
Additional qualifications that could help you succeed even further in this role include:
Master's degree or higher in a science or engineering discipline, or technology management from an accredited institution
Five (5) or more years of experience at manufacturing sites in process, product, manufacturing, or capital engineering roles
Proficient in continual improvement problem solving methodologies
Experience in film making, coating, extrusion, and web handling technologies
Experience in milling and compounding technologies
Experience in leading and supporting global teams
Ability to energize teams and promote teamwork
Demonstrated project management, facilitation, communication, influencing, teaching and coaching skills
Ability to find and implement creative solutions
Work location: St Paul, MN (in person 4 days per week)
Travel: May include up to 25% domestic/international
Relocation Assistance: May be authorized
