Supply chain specialist job description

We are seeking a Supply Chain Specialist to join our federal team based at the Camp Humphrey’s U.S. military site in South Korea . This position will be responsible for managing the supply operations for a high security command center on Camp Humphrey’s. This position requires a TS/SCI clearance so the successful candidate must be able to obtain and maintain a TS/SCI clearance within one year of employment. This is an exciting opportunity to work in a challenging yet rewarding military facility making a true contribution to our nation’s defenses. The successful candidate will be expected to live in South Korea and will be provided with a housing and subsistence allowance. This role is a key business leader as a member of the Camp Humphrey’s Leadership Team for a highly secure facility maintenance and service contract reporting to the project manager.

As a Supply Chain Specialist , you will:
Be responsible for ordering, tracking, receiving, storing, inventory management, and issuance of materials for the project Responsible to identify a supplier network and maintain a relationship with the suppliers Partner with operations team to optimize supplier network utilization and ensure customer satisfaction in support of the project goals and strategic plan Implements supply chain strategies to facilitate the cost-effective flow of materials and products from suppliers to the project site and ultimately through installation Position will have functional responsibility for a purchasing / material planning organization Drive continuous supplier process and performance improvement related to procurement, inventory control, capacity planning and manufacturing strategies Monitors the performance of suppliers, assessing their ability to meet quality and delivery requirements; identifies and qualifies new suppliers in collaboration with other departments. Develops performance metrics both organizational and supply based that drive initiatives to ensure goals are met on schedule. Responsible for compliance to all FAR/DFARs regulations. Works cross-functionally to forge collaborative relationships across all functions to drive best practices Proactively seeks solutions to internal processes and leads change that drives continuous improvement to ensure an efficient and effective order to delivery process Ability to reduce cost and improve efficiency Supports business objectives with supplier risk assessments and development of mitigation activities in conjunction with engineering and manufacturing Process data, identifying problematic areas and drive and execute improvements Design and implements necessary supply chain optimization projects Responsible for coordinating delivery through customs and the military customer Responsible for the control and issue/delivery of high value tools onsite


Required Qualifications:


5+ years of experience in a progressive procurement/sourcing environment or related experience in Supply Chain operations Experience with procurement efforts in a Department of Defense (DOD) contracting environment. Knowledge of FAR and DFAR regulations and the nature of flow down requirements Excellent interpersonal and negotiation skills with a proven ability to create and maintain positive working relationships with vendors, suppliers, shippers, and customers. Strong supervisory and leadership skills. The ability to obtain and maintain a Department of Defense Top Secret/SCI clearance within one year of start of employment required. Active TS/SCI clearance preferred. (This involves a background/character, criminal history, employment, and credit check.)

Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities
Support Value Stream as SCM leader and primary point of contact for functional supply chain activities, continuous improvement initiatives and escalations.Role does NOT have any direct reports.Responsible for managing ECO implementations and cross functional management relating to materials Lead cross functional team projects for improving SCM value stream performance.Drive a systematic problem solving, process improvement, and value enhancement approach utilizing Lean Six Sigma (DMAIC) principles in collaboration with suppliers & Nordson.Identify sourcing gaps and work with strategic buyers to create/execute project plans to address Track supplier KPI's to monitor performance based on NBS Next methodologies.Identify and manage Continuous Improvement (CI) projects to achieve cost, quality, and delivery objectives.Negotiate Scheduling Agreements with suppliers Support Research and root cause of monthly PPV and Material Price Change (MPC) report.Innovate and drive process improvements to increase efficiency and optimization Own Value Stream projects, as assigned.Other duties as assigned.

Education and Experience
Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Engineering, Business, or related field required Minimum 3 years Supply Chain Experience required.Minimum 3 years' experience in a manufacturing environment is required.Experience procuring and sourcing sheet metal strongly desired SAP experience highly desired.

Skills and Abilities
Experience with Lean Manufacturing in a production environment, working knowledge of Lean Six Sigma processes & tools.Proficient or advanced in Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint and TeamsUnderstanding of basic Project Management methodologies Lean ManufacturingAbility to read and interpret blueprints Sound understanding of Purchasing practices across various commodities Understanding of RoHS and REACH compliance a plus Excellent communication and problem-solving skills High attention to detail and strong organizational skills Ability to execute in a fast paced and dynamic environment Strong negotiating skills Team player.

Work you'll do

As a Specialist Senior you will work in a collaborative and diverse team environment providing many opportunities to have an active voice. You will advise clients on their Supply Chain and Operations strategy and work with them to implement next generation solutions. Deloitte brings world-class supply network capabilities, operational know-how, advanced analytics, and industry-speci fic hybrid solutions experience to our clients; specializing in: Digital Supply Networks, Internet of Things, Sourcing and Procurement, Manufacturing, Product Development, Dynamic Fulfillment, and Synchronized Planning.

Illustrative activities include: * Work directly with clients to understand their Supply Chain, Manufacturing and related processes, capabilities and systems * Facilitate gathering and documenting project and user requirements based on client meetings for system solution development * Functionally design, technically configure, integrate, and install WMS solutions for our clients * Lead and contribute to the creation and maintenance of configuration and training documents * Lead functional and technical discussions with the client including the integration of WMS to ERP and other IT systems * Troubleshoot system problems, discover root causes and develop solutions

Qualifications

Required * 5+ years of professional experience working in a Supply Chain Management organization or with a Logistics Service Provider (e.g., 3PL, 4PL) * 3+ years of experience with warehouse management technology solutions and/or implementation experience in one of the following: Blue Yonder, Korber (High Jump), Manhattan * Experience with 1-3 full lifecycle Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) implementation s in a complex environment * 3+ years of experience conducting the following activities: business requirements gathering, fit-gap analysis, functional design process, system testing and solution delivery, UAT customer support, process document creations and review, working with onsite and offshore delivery model * 3+ years of warehouse functional knowledge in: Receiving, Shipping, Order Management, Inventory Management, Labor Standards and Fulfillment * Experience using analytics and metrics to assess warehouse processes and operational performance to identify and quantify improvement opportunities * A Bachelor's Degree * Ability to travel up to 50% (While up to 50% travel is a requirement of the role, due to COVID-19, non-essential travel has been suspended until further notice) * Limited immigration sponsorship may be available

Preferred * Outstanding critical thinking, analytics and problem-solvin g skills with the ability to exercise mature judgment * Strong oral and written communication skills, including presentation skills (MS Visio, MS Power Point) * Experience working with cross-function al / extended teams * Advanced Degree in Supply Chain or Business (MBA) with an operations research or supply chain emphasis * Experience working as a Consultant in a consulting firm delivering supply chain services in a client environment * Project experiences in one or more of the following industries: Retail and Consumer Products, S emi-conductor, Life Sciences, Oil, Gas and Chemicals * Experience leading a project team in a project client environment
