The Material Estimator will collaborate with the Proposal Center of Excellence, as well as internal supply chain, planning and engineering functions to identify win strategies, solicit and assess inputs from the supply base, and create compliant BOEs in accordance with the Proposal Team goals and schedules. **Job Responsibilities** + Develop moderately complex analyses of cost data to determine reasonableness and/or best value. + Analyze Bills of Material, Send Suppliers Requests for Quotes (RFQ), Evaluate RFQ Responses, and forecast most like Material Cost. + Evaluate the proposal RFP/Q flow downs from the Contracts department and ensure the appropriate flow-downs are Identified and passed on to Vendor. + Interact with Program Management, Engineering, Procurement and Contracts to understand all Direct Material requirements and serve as an intermediary between the Suppliers and DRS functional areas to address supplier's questions and concerns. + When Applicable, consolidate customer requirements to obtain leverage proposal pricing. + Perform TCPD Sweeps with respect to Direct Material and perform impact analysis of applicable updates. + Represent Supply Chain during customer negotiations, Fact-Find, Audits and TCPD Sweeps. + Ensure all Forecasted costs are based on most likely cost at time of award. + Prepare all proposal data in accordance with DRS and FAR applicable requirement. + Ensure all applicable proposal support data is completed and filed properly. + Complete a Basis of Estimate for all Applicable Assigned Proposals. + Meet Proposal Due dates. + Create Excel Pivot Table and complex Excel Formulas (Knowledge of Power Query and ProPricer a plus). + Improve understanding of purchasing relationship to the over-all company plans and strategy. + Support, communicate and defend the mission, values and culture of the company. **Qualifications** + Prefer Bachelor's degree in supply chain management, business, engineering or 3 years equivalent experience. + 3 years of demonstrated experience in Aerospace and/or Defense Manufacturing. + Experience in finance, contracting, export regulations, engineering, logistics, manufacturing and DoD, ITAR, FAR, DFAR regulations. + Strong customer interface skills. + Demonstrated problem-solving skills and be detail oriented. + Must have a successful track record in managing complex aerospace/defense supply chain activities. + Must have excellent oral and written communication skills. + Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment with strict deadlines. + Must be able to work independently and manage assigned proposals. + Must be willing to work overtime when deadlines dictate. + Must have strong Excel skills (Nested Formulas, Index, Match, Sumlfs, Pivot Tables, etc.) and strong data analysis skills + Procurement/Buying experience is preferred + Experience in evaluating drawing packages and compiling requests for quotes from vendors + Familiarity with Bills of Materials (consolidated Bills of Materials) + Familiarity with Indentured levels, Makes vs. Buys + Knowledge of FAR requirements, as they pertain to Proposal Material Estimating preferred + Ability to forecast future costs based on analysis of cost data + Must be able to accurately evaluate Vendor RFQ responses + Deltek CostPoint / Omnify skills are preferred U.S. Citizenship required.
