SUMMARY Vice President, Supply Chain will support the selling function and will carry out a variety of tasks and functions in support of the product line. The position will be responsible for maintaining proper inventory levels, inventory mix, and overall efficiency and profitability of the product line. Vice President, Supply Chain will monitor the facilities, information systems and laboratory operations in order to ensure continued production.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Review and evaluation of inventories. Forecast, plan, and provide for product line and customer needs and demands. Ensure inventory turnover is maximized. Identify and communicate to management trading opportunities in the marketplace. Initiate and conclude purchase transactions while ensuring acceptable return on investment and minimizing the occurrence of quality rejections. Identify repair candidates in existing inventory and initiate accurate inputs in accordance with customer and technical specifications. Monitor and ensure the accuracy of existing inventory. Job Description:

The VP of Supply Chain Management will report to the CEO of the company and is responsible for optimizing process and strategy relating to all facets of the supply chain. This role will have responsibility for Strategic Sourcing, Purchasing, Demand Planning and Scheduling, Inventory Control and Warehouse Operations, among others. Direct reports will include: two Warehouse Operations Managers, one Financial Analyst and one Purchasing Supervisor.

General

  • Oversees supply chain functions such as: demand planning/forecasting and management, operational planning, inventory planning and management, materials management, capacity planning, strategic sourcing, supplier management, logistics management, and warehouse management.
  • Implements supply chain and logistics methodologies that add value and bring the company up to “best in class” level of supply chain management resulting in greater efficiency, quality, customer satisfaction, and overall team performance.
  • Improves margins, controls overheads and minimizes variances via efficient management, control, and review of all assigned resources: human, material, information technology, facilities and equipment.
  • Balances all aspects of the supply chain such as safety, price, delivery, quality, lead time, inventory, customer satisfaction and the overall supplier relationship.
  • Develops and implements systems to support key supply chain initiatives to improve business efficiencies and reduce the total cost of supply chain management. Recommends interim solutions to legacy systems for critical business processes that require immediate corrective action before the ultimate solution is implemented.

Strategic Sourcing

Responsible for creating and driving sourcing strategies for direct and indirect spend categories.

Develop accurate demand plan, based on forecasted starts, construction schedule and lead times. Refine replenishment system algorithm as needed to optimize inventory levels around service levels and inventory carrying cost. Ensure processes are in place to promote inventory accuracy.

Warehouse Operations

Manage the five warehouse locations, ensuring safe, productive, cost-effective, on-time and accurate performance in warehouse operations. Responsible for driving continuous improvement across all facets of warehouse performance, including the implementation of KPIs and management reporting, optimizing put-away and picking, and improving accuracy of inventory counting. Develop long-term plan for warehouse capacity, including identification of new warehouse facilities to meet the needs of the business.

Qualifications

  • Proven working experience leading overall Supply Chain – including procurement, sourcing, warehouse operations, inventory management and purchasing
