Under the direction of the Engineering Manager the Product SKU Associate is responsible for the creation, maintenance, and revision control of item master information, including bills of materials and product routings. As part of the engineering team, this individual will work with Estimating, Project Management, and Production to develop and maintain the necessary information to support Product Development thru Production within the Epicor ERP system. A DAY IN THE LIFE: Create Item Master information for raw material goods and purchased items that are used within the production facilities for product structure, manufacturing, and/or product costing. As well as the creation of BOMs and MOMs that include estimated labor time(s) needed to complete manufacturing processes for standard SKU driven product. Assist in the creation of Quotes, utilizing the same requirements above as requested by other business sectors. Play facilitator role, while working across departments on ‘Engineering Change Orders' (for product and/or process changes) and maintain the database information affected by the result of these changes. Work well in an independent or team environment to be able to meet project deadlines and Engineering timelines. Including timely progress reports to team leaders/stake holders. Ability to handle multiple tasks and proactively position themselves to meet aggressive timelines. Calculate dimensions, quantities, and unit tolerances in accordance with established practices for manufactured product. Ensure compliance with company standards and engineering best practices. Maintain organized records of technical data and project updates. Provide general technical support to Engineering ensure the timely delivery of tasks. Assist in the preparation of presentations and technical summaries for stakeholders. Contribute to process improvements and efficiency initiatives. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: PRODUCTION OPERATIONS • Process merchandise and supply orders by accurately sorting and pulling supplies (frames, lenses, etc.) for fabrication of eyeglasses for the stores • Order appropriate stock to maintain the right inventory levels and coordinate inventory procedures as directed • Receive inbound shipments accurately and place in proper location in the Optical Lab and ensure all paperwork associated with orders is handled correctly • Follow up with vendors to resolve shipping or pricing issues • Communicate out of stock issues to the production team and stores • Adjust orders as needed to provide a substitute for backordered product • Prepare orders for delivery by ensuring all orders are packaged correctly and placed in the proper outbound delivery location • Receive, inspect, sort and properly locate all returns from the stores • Process all corporate directed recalls/returns according to company standards CUSTOMER SUPPORT • Respond to inquiries from internal and external customers related to support areas • Provide the production team and stores with status updates as needed • Partner with vendors to adequately fill and expedite orders MAINTAIN SAFE WORK ENVIRONMENT • Follow all company and lab policies and guidelines • Adhere to safety guidelines and OSHA regulations • Ensure orders are fabricated only if a work ticket is provided • Perform stretching before reporting to workstation MINIMUM KNOWLEDGE, EXPERIENCE & SKILLS REQUIREMENTS: • High School Graduate or equivalent preferred • Optical experience a plus, but not required • Excellent customer service skills (ability to build and maintain positive customer relations and handle customer requests in a timely, professional, and accurate manner) • Strong written and oral communication skills • Interpersonal skills • Computer skills (Microsoft Office, Outlook, data entry, etc.) • Ability to problem solve in a professional manner and timely fashion • Analytical and decision-making skills • Self-motivated and detail oriented • Ability to multi-task and prioritize ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS & WORK REQUIREMENTS: • Ability to effectively communicate at all levels within the organization through written and two-way verbal communication • Able to read and write at a high school level • Able to sit or stand for extended periods of time • Able to operate various office equipment and Optical Lab equipment • Demonstrate physical agility (bending, climbing, twisting, squatting, lifting, pushing, reaching, etc.) on a repetitive basis • Ability to lift an average of 10 pounds on a repetitive basis • Ability to see (Near, Distance, Color, and Depth Perception) • Manual and finger dexterity, as well as hand/arm steadiness • Ability to grip and hold items • Good eye and hand coordination • Ability to work in a fast-paced production environment • Able to work normal and/or extended (evenings, nights, and weekends) office hours to meet established deadlines • Able to travel independently to support Company objectives and personal development These statements are intended to describe the general nature and level of work performed by teammates assigned to this job classification.
