The Cost Specialist also ensures the project's budget objectives are achieved. Essential Qualifications: * Four (4) years of cost control and analyst experience in any combination of industrial maintenance, capital projects, and/or outages and turnarounds * Four (4) years of jobsite cost specialist experience or BS degree in one of the following: Business Administration, Construction Management, Accounting, or related curriculum * Must have a strong background in both cost control and cost analyst * Working knowledge of basic to moderately complex cost accounting and cost engineering * Creative thinking skills are required for identifying issues before a potential problem is created * Mandatory working knowledge of multiple E1 system modules (i.e., Timekeeping, Job Cost, Accounts Payable, Billing, Accounts Receivable) * Preferred working knowledge of various Client systems (i.e., SAP, E-Payables, TRACK, etc.) * Mandatory understanding of basic Cost Accounting terminology, methodology, and forecasting techniques * Demonstrate excellent organizational, leadership, motivational and communication skills while maintaining a professional appearance * Creative thinking skills are required for identifying issues before a potential problem is created * Willingness to professionally represent the company while meeting with Client and Management * Proficient in Google Workspace * Post offer drug / alcohol screen, physical evaluation, and signed acceptance of the Turner Industries Drug, Alcohol and Contraband Policy * Comply with company and client job site safety requirements * Must not pose a direct threat to the health or safety of others in the workplace Functional Requirements: Effectively manage and control cost, general accounting, cost accounting, conduct audits and create and submit cost reports; work closely with the project management team, understand, and inform them about the impact and cost diversity or variances of the project; develop Work Cos Breakdown Structure (CBS) for each specific scope of work, capital project, or turnaround; use Oracle E-Business Suite to create project codes, view and manage cost data, requisitions, purchase orders, vendor invoices, budget man-hours and costs by object, subsidiary, and subledger by the CBS following receipt of the job opening notice; fully understand and facilitate the issuance of contract components / documentation,; set-up all project tracking tools (e.g., Project Status Reports, E1 Reports, Payroll, Summaries, Field Change Orders and Equipment Rental Logs, etc.); review all requisitions (materials, subcontracts, rentals, etc.) for proper cost codes and forward to purchasing; provide actual labor man-hour expenditures with Win PCS to planner and scheduler for updating project curves and foreman's interface; facilitate / maintain Management of Change (MOC) coding and budgets for the Project; prepare and issue the Project Status Summary report including safety, schedule, manpower and productivity curves, financial status, quality controls metrics and field change order logs at the agreed upon interval (i.e., daily, weekly, monthly, etc.); review Vendor invoicing for accuracy and proper cost codes prior to forwarding to Account Payable; prepare and issue the final Project Status Summary report including safety, schedule, manpower and productivity curves, financial status, quality controls metrics and field change order logs; perform additional assignments per supervisor's direction Compensation Final agreed upon compensation is based upon individual qualifications and experience.
