Implement physicians' orders, such as performing treatments, starting IVs, administering medications, and interpreting tests. Review and maintain medical records. Administer direct care to injured, disabled, ill or convalescent patients. Document pertinent information and medication administration. Counsel patients and family members on disease prevention and health maintenance. Maintain a safe and hygienic working environment. Provide emotional and psychological support to patients and families. Complete required continuous training and education, including department specific requirements. Assess patient health continuously and implement and develop nursing care plans. Receive patients, explain procedures, check vital signs, complete assessments, required screenings, administer therapy, monitor reactions, document and report information to physicians appropriately. Deal with emergency situations effectively as they arise. Provide infusion treatments such as hydration, blood and blood components, drugs, and other solutions.
