Accountabilities / Responsibilities:

High energy surgical tech needed for assisting in ophthalmic procedures. Prior experience a plus but will consider a highly motivated individual. M-F, no weekends or holidays.

Key Responsibilities:

Knowledge of sterilization procedures, aseptic technique, and maintenance and care of instruments and equipment.
Assists with the preparation of the operating room for surgical procedures and effectively and efficiently assists the surgeon during the procedure.
Good visual acuity. Ability to lift/transfer patients in excess of 100 pounds, which may require pushing, pulling and essentially utilizing a full range of body movement. Ability to stand, walk, stoop, kneel, crouch and/or crawl. Ability to reach, grasp, use fine finger movement and feel fine sensation to discern temperature, texture, size and shape. Ability to speak and hear.
Displays a caring and responsive attitude and conducts all activities respecting patient, family and employee rights and expectations.
Fosters a positive and professional surgery center environment by interacting with all persons in a considerate, helpful and courteous manner and by participating as a team member.
Qualifications:
Graduate of a recognized and accredited Operating Room Technician Program.
Prior Experience as an ORT/CST preferred.
Current Surgical Technologist certification.
Successful completion of BCLS Course within 90 days of employment or documentation of current BCLS certification. Employer provides course.

The Certified Surgical Technician will be able to demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to provide assistance during surgical procedures performed in the department. The Certified Surgical Technician is experienced in all aspects as aseptic technique, setting up the required equipment and sterile supplies as needed for their assigned cases; pulling cases for the following day's cases; breaking down cases at the end of the procedure. He/she is knowledgeable regarding instrumentation, equipment and supply needs for all types of surgical procedures. The Certified Surgical Technician may act as a second circulator in the Operating Room and will function under the direction of the R.N. This role will entail duties for which he/she has demonstrated competency. The surgical technician may come in contact with medications and therefore must demonstrate understanding of proper medication management and storage as well as maintaining a secure medication environment the certified operating room technician performs delegated duties consistent with his/her scope of practice and functions within the philosophy and overall plan for SRMC. Follows and supports SRMC policy and procedures. The operating room technician displays positive support for the values and mission of SRMC. Provides education on procedures, instrumentation, and equipment. Demonstrates advanced resource skills for equipment and instruments. Assists coordinators in case preparation, equipment needs (operating and capital requests) and preference card accuracy. Lead preceptor skills. Ability to function and precept in a minimum of two specialties (Total Joints, and Complex Spine). Call is required for position.

**Job:** **Clinical Techs - CV Cath Lab Surg Vasc & Central Sterile*

**Title:** *Surgery Technician - OR Spine Joint Service Line *

**Location:** *Colorado-Lone Tree-Sky Ridge Medical Center*

Provides radiologic imaging to patients for the purpose of diagnoses and treatment.


Work Schedule:
Part Time, 48 hours/pay period, Days

Responsibilities:
Performs radiographic and fluoroscopic procedures using appropriate patient positioning, technique selection, contrast media, immobilization, and radiation protection. Evaluates finished images for technical quality.

Confirms physician orders. Consults with Radiologists as necessary. Identifies patient, introduces self and explains procedure to be performed.

Maintains inventory of supplies in work areas. Perform clerical procedures as needed. Transports patients as necessary. Orients staff as appropriate.

Functions as contact person for the facility Radiation Safety Program. Performs Radiation Safety Program safety monitoring and device tracking.

Within scope of job, requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgement and the ability to work with minimal supervision. Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment and take appropriate action.


Requirements:



Minimum Required Education: Graduate of an approved School of Radiologic Technology program. Required Licensure/Certification: R.T. (R) from ARRT (American Registry of Radiologic Technologists).
Minimum Experience: None required. BLS through the American Heart Association or the American Red Cross CPR for the Professional Rescuer with card in-hand before start date. BLS or CPR card must be good through sixty days of hire. All life support certification cards must be issued by either the American Heart Association or the American Red Cross CPR for the Professional Rescuer. (American Red Cross for the Professional Rescuer is only good upon hire and all renewals will need to be through an American Heart Association sanctioned course.)

The pay range for this position is: $18.38 - $27.56 / hour. Pay is dependent on applicant's relevant experience.
