Responsibilities The Admission Representative Clerk is responsible for overseeing patient registration and scheduling for the practice. The Patient Access Representative also acts as a customer advocate and OPA representative, meeting the needs of our surgeons, staff, and patients throughout the clinic experience. * Answer incoming calls and respond to inquiries or route calls appropriately, interacts with patients in a courteous and professional manner. * Register patients accurately, including demographic, insurance, and contact information. * Schedule, reschedule, and cancel appointments using the clinic's electronic health record (EHR) system. * Verify insurance eligibility and obtain necessary authorizations or referrals. * Maintain patient confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA regulations. * Collaborate with clinical and administrative staff to ensure smooth patient flow. * Assist with administrative tasks such as scanning, filing, and data entry. * Handle patient complaints or concerns with empathy and escalate when necessary. * Maintains patient confidentiality. * Maintains safe work practices. * Other duties as assigned.
