This position requires management of emergency situation, care of a variety of cardiac surgical patients including all types of Durable Cardiac Assist Devices and heart transplants.
The 9 bed Surgical Step Down includes patients who have high acuity and complexity. These patients require vigilant and consist management. Providers are required maintain BLS and ACLS for this position.
Shift: Full Time (40 hours) Days / Nights including weekends and holidays (Premium differentials offered)

Advanced Practitioner Requirements
- Graduate of an accredited Physician Assistant / Nurse Practitioner Master's program preferred
- Licensed, or eligible to be licensed, as a Physician Assistant / Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) in the state of Connecticut
