**Responsibilities:**
+ Prepare patients for surgery by wash, shave, and ensure aseptic incision sites. May transport patients to the operating room, help position them on the operating table, and cover them with sterile surgical drapes.
+ Demonstrate excellent communication skills and collaborate with the surgeons, specialty team members, and other departments. Serve as a resource for staff and other disciplines. Identifies process improvement opportunities and assists in implementation.

How you'll contribute
A Multi-Skilled Tech in the CPG - Urology Office:
Provides patient care to all patients under the supervision of Physician and/or Physician Assistant.
Under the direction of the Physician and/or Physician Assistant, removes patients' sutures from surgical site.
Discharges patients from clinic with their instructions after being seen by a physician or Physician Assistant.
Sets up minor procedure room and assists physician and Physician Assistant with all procedures.
Assists in patient care pre and post procedure and/or clinic visit.
Triages phone calls, provides assistance to callers, routes calls to necessary personnel.
Orders needed surgical instruments and supplies.
Maintains and organizes minor OR supplies and preparation of instruments for sterilization.
Provides clinical support to front desk and coworkers as needed.
Continually strives to identify areas of cost containment by monitoring supplies and equipment.
Attends assigned and/or scheduled in-service education meetings and staff meetings.
Travels to other locations where Urology holds clinic (Ebensburg and Somerset)
Promotes an environment that is conducive to employee and patient safety.
Must be flexible with workload, schedule and location to meet department volume demands.
Maintains confidentiality of all patient information in accordance with departmental policies and procedures.
Maintenance of office equipment in good operational order.
Department Specific:
Assists with patient assessments and participates in discharge planning while maintaining therapeutic partnership with patients, family, and caregivers.
Reinforces patient/family teaching plan focused on a patient's needs and in accordance to age specific competencies.
Administers medication according to policy.
Implements physician orders.
Provides direct patient care in a personalized, efficient manner with respect for spiritual and cultural differences.
Reports patient's status, refers problems when necessary and anticipates situations that prevent/minimize adverse outcomes or less than optimal outcomes.
Follows established plan of care.
Collaborates with members of the health care team.

What we're looking for
High School Diploma/GED. Graduate of an accredited CST program.
Certified Surgical Technologist/Must maintain certification.
Minimum of one-year surgical experience preferred
