Key responsibilities this position will perform include:
Coordinates and assists in the surgical recovery, preservation, and packaging of organs and specimens in conjunction with transplant surgeons and/or organ recovery coordinators in accordance with policies and standards.
Assumes primary responsibility for the renal preservation process including pumping and pump transport, in accordance with policies and standards.
Performs extensive on-call responsibilities to assist with the activities related to the donor recovery.
Coordinates and assists with organ allocation, including kidney and liver placement, distribution, and transportation of organs for transplantation and/or research in accordance with policies and standards.
Coordinates and assists with fly outs and fly backs.
The ideal candidate will have:
High school diploma or equivalent. Bachelor's degree in a related field preferred.
One to two years experience in the operating room or recent graduate of a certified surgicaltechnician program required.
Health-related certification and ISOP Level 1 by completion of the first year.
Working knowledge of computers and Microsoft Office applications and basic data entry skills required.

As a Surgical Technologist, you will be a central figure in the operating room team, meticulously preparing and maintaining the sterile field for surgical procedures and actively anticipating the needs of the surgical team. Merit Salary Increase: New employees will receive the starting salary, which is the first step of the salary range. After employees serve 52 weeks (2080 hours) on each step of the range, they are eligible for a merit increase to the next step.
Educational Reimbursement Program: Eligible employees may be reimbursed for career-related course work up to a maximum of $850 per fiscal year. Eligible employees enrolled in an approved four (4) year College or University academic program may be reimbursed up to $800 per semester for a maximum of $1600 per fiscal year.
Parking Supplemental Downtown Stockton: The County contributes up to $20 per pay period for employees who pay for parking and are assigned to work in the Downtown Core Area.
School Activities: Employees may take up to 40 hours per year, but not more than eight (8) hours per month, to participate in their children's school activities.
Selection Procedures
Applicants who meet the minimum qualifications will go through the following examination process:
* Written Exam: The civil service written exam is a multiple choice format. If the written exam is administered alone, it will be 100% of the overall score. Candidates must achieve a minimum rating of 70% in order to be placed on the eligible list.
* Oral Exam: The oral exam is a structured interview process that will assess the candidate's education, training, and experience and may include a practical exercise. The oral exam selection process is not a hiring interview. A panel of up to four people will determine the candidate's score and rank for placement on the eligible list. Top candidates from the eligible list are referred for hiring interviews. If the oral exam is administered alone, it will be 100% of the overall score. * Rate-out: A rate-out is an examination that involves a paper rating of the candidate's application using the following criteria: education, training, and experience. Candidates will not be scheduled for the rate-out process.
Note: The rating of 70 referred to may be the same or other than an arithmetic 70% of the total possible points.

Candidates will be notified of the examination date and will be responsible to complete the written exam within a given period of time (typically within five calendar days). This position requires providing care/service to an acutely ill through rehabilitating pediatric through geriatric patient population in a manner that demonstrates an understanding of the functional and/or developmental age of the individual served.
We are a high volume OR with many specialities including general surgery, urology, ENT, orthospine, gastroenterology, GYN and CVOR utilizing the da Vinci Xi, da Vinci Si and Mako robots.

Job Requirements
Minimum:
* Must have a minimum of six months' experience in an acute care Surgery Department and be able to perform as the scrub personnel in all specialties.
* Six months experience may substituted if the candidate has completed an ORT externship on-site within the last year. If operational conditions permit, training a candidate without the required experience may be considered, but must be a recent Graduate from an or Tech Program and certified.
* OR Tech Certified required
* CPR/BLS Certification required
Preferred:
* Completion of Operating Room Technician Training Course preferred.
