GENERAL PURPOSE Under general supervision of the captain, provides direct services, individually and as a member of a team in response to fire, rescue, hazmat and other incidents. A Paramedic/Firefighter will respond to medical emergencies and provide pre-hospital ADVANCED LIFE SUPPORT care to victims of injury or illness. A Paramedic/Firefighter is ordinarily the highest medical authority at an emergency medical scene and as such, makes medical decisions based on standing orders, protocols and orders from on-line and off-line medical direction. The position of Paramedic/Firefighter necessitates the same knowledge, skills, and job requirements as listed under the Firefighter .

The Firefighter/Paramedic works under the direction of a Station Officer; performs multiple, complex and high-risk procedures and techniques in responding to fire and non-fire emergencies; emergency medical and life support care.

Responds to fire, accident, medical and other emergencies.
Directs or performs emergency medical procedures and duties.
Checks apparatus and maintains medic units.
Carries raises and takes down ground ladders ranging from 12 to 45 feet; operates aerial ladders.
Lays, charges and operates fire hose (line); collects, folds and re-loads hose on fire apparatus.
Carries and throws tarps; operates portable pumps, saws; breeches walls, moves or removes furniture and obstacles.
Climbs stairs and ladders carrying equipment such as forcible entry tools, protective gear, fire hose and Fire/EMS victims.
Wears a respirator (SCBA) in order to safely perform firefighting operations, or perform rescue in a hazardous atmosphere; duties may require a Firefighter to wear an SCBA thirty (30) minutes to several hours at one time.
Cuts or creates openings in structures to ventilate smoke/gases using power saw, ax or other tools.
Searches premises and rescues (and removes) victims by carrying them down stairs or ladders; administers first aid to victims (includes starting IVs, placing victim on backboard, administering cardiac care).
Sizes up motor vehicle accident scenes; operates extrication tools such as hydraulic jaws, ram, and cutters; dismantles vehicles to safely extricate victims.
Performs equipment checks; pulls equipment out of compartments for cleaning and maintenance, maintains medical equipment and checks inventory of equipment and supplies; washes apparatus.
Performs household duties at a fire station such as sweeping, mopping, power washing, lawn mowing.
Inspects business/industrial and fire hydrant locations for compliance with fire codes.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND CERTIFICATIONS
Graduation from high school or General Education Certificate (GED) equivalent.
Possession of Paramedic certification; Firefighter II certification preferred. The required certification may not be substituted with other experience.
Must possess a valid state driver's license and positive record (Driving records will be checked in all 50 states).

Job Summary and Qualifications
As a Surgical Technician III in the Operating Room you will deliver high quality, patient centered care as you assist staff during operative and invasive procedures. You will ensure the operating room is adequately prepared for procedures and act as a preceptor for other techs as needed. Our team supports each other like family and we are looking for someone who feels patient care is as meaningful as we do. In this role:
You will be competent in all Level II procedures (spine, peripheral CV, advanced endoscopic, multi-specialty procedures) as verified by specific competencies.
You will work with Housekeeping and Central Processing staff to clean the Operating Rooms and equipment between patients following facility policies and procedures
You will participate in safety initiates to ensure correct surgery inpatient identification, and verification of the procedure to be performed within the OR when the patient is present and prior to the surgical prep
You will rely on previous experience to anticipate and meet the needs of the surgeon
You will count all sponges, needles and instruments with the circulating RN on all surgical procedures done in the Operating Room following facility policies and procedures. In the event a sponge/needle count is incorrect, the circulating RN will inform the attending surgeon and the Anesthesiologist and a course of action will be determined and the action will be documented on the Operating Room Record as defined by facility policies and procedures
You will follow patient and employee safety/security policies and protocols, including hand hygiene, use of universal precautions, use of personal protective equipment, and adherence to isolation procedures
You will consistently assist the patient care team with maintaining a clean, well- stocked/organized, and safe patient care environment
What qualifications you will need:
Surgical Technologist Certificate (CST) and Surgical Assisting (NBSTSA) or equivalent required. Must maintain required education and certification.
Completion of surgical technologist course preferred.
Two (2) Years of experience required
Basic Cardiac Life Support, or BCLS Instructor must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date

The Surgical Technician II is under the supervision of the physician, operating room manager, and the assigned registered nurse. Job Summary and Qualifications
As a Surgical Technician III in the Operating Room you will deliver high quality, patient centered care as you assist staff during operative and invasive procedures. You will ensure the operating room is adequately prepared for procedures and act as a preceptor for other techs as needed. You will have the ability to first scrub Level III procedures (total joint replacements, complex orthopedic, neuro and spine procedures, peripheral vascular). Scrubbing a minimum of 3 of the 5 procedures.
You will work with Housekeeping and Central Processing staff to clean the Operating Rooms and equipment between patients following facility policies and procedures.
You will participate in safety initiates to ensure correct surgery inpatient identification, and verification of the procedure to be performed within the OR when the patient is present and prior to the surgical prep.
You will rely on previous experience to anticipate and meet the needs of the surgeon.
You will count all sponges, needles and instruments with the circulating RN on all surgical procedures done in the Operating Rooms following facility policies and procedures. In the event a sponge/needle count is incorrect, the circulating RN will inform the attending surgeon and the Anesthesiologist and a course of action will be determined and the action will be documented on the Operating Room Record as defined by facility policies and procedures.
You will follow patient and employee safety/security policies and protocols, including hand hygiene, use of universal precautions, use of personal protective equipment, and adherence to isolation procedures.
You will consistently assist the patient care team with maintaining a clean, well- stocked/organized, and safe patient care environment.
What qualifications you will need:
American Red Cross or American Heart Association Basic Life Support Course (BLS or BCLS) and Certification.
Surgical Technologist Certificate (CST) and Surgical Assisting (NBSTSA) or equivalent required. Must maintain required education and certification.
Completion of surgical technologist course preferred.
Five (5) years of experience required.

Sizes up motor vehicle accident scenes; operates extrication tools such as hydraulic jaws, ram, and cutters; dismantles vehicles to safely extricate victims.

Performs household duties at a fire station such as sweeping, mopping, power washing, lawn mowing.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Graduation from high school or General Education Certificate (GED) equivalent.
EMT Basic (EMTB) or Advanced EMT (AEMT). Firefighter II certification preferred. The required certification may not be substituted with other experience.

Job Summary and Qualifications
As a Surgical Technician III in the Operating Room you will deliver high quality, patient centered care as you assist staff during operative and invasive procedures. You will ensure the operating room is adequately prepared for procedures and act as a preceptor for other techs as needed. Our team supports each other like family and we are looking for someone who feels patient care is as meaningful as we do. In this role:
You will have the ability to first scrub Level III procedures (total joint replacements, complex orthopedic, neuro and spine procedures, peripheral vascular). Scrubbing a minimum of 3 of the 5 procedures.
You will work with Housekeeping and Central Processing staff to clean the Operating Rooms and equipment between patients following facility policies and procedures.
You will participate in safety initiates to ensure correct surgery inpatient identification, and verification of the procedure to be performed within the OR when the patient is present and prior to the surgical prep.
You will rely on previous experience to anticipate and meet the needs of the surgeon
You will follow patient and employee safety/security policies and protocols, including hand hygiene, use of universal precautions, use of personal protective equipment, and adherence to isolation procedures.
You will consistently assist the patient care team with maintaining a clean, well- stocked/organized, and safe patient care environment.
What qualifications you will need:
· American Red Cross or American Heart Association Basic Life Support Course (BLS or BCLS) and Certification.
· Surgical Technologist Certificate (CST) and Surgical Assisting (NBSTSA) or equivalent required. Must maintain required education and certification.
· Completion of surgical technologist course preferred.
· Five (5) years of experience required.
