Who We're Looking For:
Certified Surgical Technologist: Must hold a degree in Surgical Technology and be certified or eligible to be certified through the NBSTSA. Certification through the NCCT may be acceptable depending on territory assigned.
Adaptable and Travel-Ready: Comfortable with driving to various locations in assigned territory and staying overnight when needed. All travel expenses are covered (hotel stays, gas for company vehicle, and meal allowances while traveling)
Excellent Communicator: Able to build strong relationships quickly with surgeons and their teams.
Self-assured: Able to thrive in high-pressure environments with confidence and professionalism.
Organized and Detail-Oriented: Skilled at managing equipment and completing administrative tasks required to support assigned territory.
Operating Room Experience: Ophthalmic experience is a plus, but not required.

How you will contribute:
You will determine donor eligibility; to include, proper management of informed consent, AIDS education and confidential self-exclusion, medical history interview and acceptance requirements, physical examination, blood testing, and reviewing Serological Protein Electrophoresis (SPE).
You will evaluate donor reaction(s), which occurs at the facility as outlined in the SOPs. Follow applicable SOPs for medical emergencies including the development of Center Physician's standing orders and donor transport to emergency care facilities.
You will refer to the Center Physician or Medical Affairs (as applicable) when in need of providing unacceptable findings to donors, or guidance concerning medical or technical issues, including donor safety and eligibility.
You will support the Hepatitis B and Seasonal Flu vaccination programs for employees as applicable.
You will manage employee incidents and determine whether further evaluation is required by occupational health/ER. Refer to EHS guidance regarding employee incidents.
You can be a Pandemic Coordinator when authorized by EHS and support investigations associated with pandemic threats within the local community as indicated by EHS or Medical Affairs.
What you bring to Takeda:
High school diploma or equivalent to including graduate equivalent of a recognized educational nursing program with state requirements
Currently licensed or certified in the state where responsibilities will be assigned: EMT-Paramedic
Current Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) and AED certification

Follows hospital regulations and industry procedures to tend to patient during pre-operation procedures.
Performs pre-operation preparations to the patient's skin, body and medical equipment.

Get patients ready for surgery by washing, shaving, and disinfecting incision sites.

Observe patients' vital signs, check charts, and assist the surgical team with putting on sterile gowns and gloves.
Pass instruments and other sterile supplies to surgeons and surgeon assistants.
Hold retractors, cut sutures, and help count sponges, needles, supplies, and instruments. Help prepare, care for, and dispose of specimens taken for laboratory analysis and help apply dressings.
Operate sterilizers, lights, or suction machines, and help operate diagnostic equipment.
After an operation, help transfer patients to the recovery room and clean and restock the operating room.
Performs other duties as assigned.
PHYSICAL/MENTAL DEMANDS:
Ability to be on your feet for long periods and lift or turn disabled patients.
Requires sitting and standing associated with a normal office environment.
Ability to concentrate for periods of up to four hours

We had our GRAND OPENING: August 1st, 2023 that is equipped with 2 state of the art surgical suites, dual dental suites, 2 isolation wards for canines and a separated feline isolation ward, a large canine hospitalization ward and separated feline ward and 20 exam rooms! We offer in house abdominal and focused Ultrasounds through our in house Ultrasound technician and more!

+ Record accurate and timely information regarding vital signs and treatment parameters onto the Hemodialysis Treatment Sheet with initial identification
+ Responsible for accurate documentation of information related to patient treatment including completion of Hemodialysis Treatment Sheet and, if applicable, progress notes.
+ Report any significant information and/or change in patient condition directly to the registered nurse or supervisor.
+ Observe patient and conduct machine safety checks according to facility policy. Report any change or unusual findings to the registered nurse or supervisor.
+ Perform and document any intervention for unusual patient status and document patients' response to intervention.
+ Evaluate patients' vascular access during treatment including arterial and venous monitoring pressures, provide appropriate intervention as needed, document and report any unusual findings to the registered nurse or supervisor.
+ Obtain all prescribed laboratory testing and prepare specimens for collection.
+ Ensure that all blood spills are immediately cleaned with appropriate disinfectant according to facility policy.
+ Prepare, organize, and efficiently utilize supplies and equipment to prevent wastage.

**Staff Related**
+ Assists in training of applicable direct patient care staff on appropriate programs under the supervision of a nurse.

* Welcome assigned patients and inquire as to their wellbeing since their last treatment.
* Evaluate vascular access for patency, perform vascular access cannulation, and perform administration of heparin as delegated or as allowed by state law.
* Obtain necessary pre and post treatment vital signs and weight and perform vascular access evaluation pre- treatment
* Initiate dialysis treatment according to prescribed orders including blood flow (QB) and dialysate flow (QD).
* Evaluate intradialytic problems and provide intervention as prescribed by physician order or as directed.
* Monitor patients' response to dialysis therapy.
* Obtain vital signs prior to reinfusion; perform all relevant functions necessary for the discontinuation of treatment - document.
* Discontinue dialysis treatment according to established procedures and evaluate patient prior to termination of venous access - standing & sitting blood pressure
* Obtain Hemostasis and apply appropriate dressings.
* Evaluate the patient prior to discharge.
* Perform and record Pre and Post dialysis evaluation, weight, and vital signs with initial identification
* Responsible for calculating and entry of individual patients' dialysis machine programming for Ultrafiltration (UF) goal; treatment time; and UF modeling as prescribed.
* Responsible for ensuring appropriate safety alarms are enabled, including Narrow Venous Limits, (NVL) 160.
* Record accurate and timely information regarding vital signs and treatment parameters onto the Hemodialysis Treatment Sheet with initial identification
* Responsible for accurate documentation of information related to patient treatment including completion of Hemodialysis Treatment Sheet and, if applicable, progress notes.
* Report any significant information and/or change in patient condition directly to the registered nurse or supervisor.
* Observe patient and conduct machine safety checks according to facility policy. Report any change or unusual findings to the registered nurse or supervisor.
* Perform and document any intervention for unusual patient status and document patients' response to intervention.
* Evaluate patients' vascular access during treatment including arterial and venous monitoring pressures, provide appropriate intervention as needed, document and report any unusual findings to the registered nurse or supervisor.
* Obtain all prescribed laboratory testing and prepare specimens for collection.
* Ensure that all blood spills are immediately cleaned with appropriate disinfectant according to facility policy.
* Prepare, organize, and efficiently utilize supplies and equipment to prevent wastage.
* Monitors patients performing self-care under the supervision of RN.
Staff Related
* Assists in training of applicable direct patient care staff on appropriate programs under the supervision of a nurse.
Education/Communication:
* Follows all organization business policies, procedures and systems incorporated into training, including compliance with ethical business practices
* Maintain environmental integrity and aesthetics - ensure all areas are safe and clean.
* Clean and disinfect dialysis machine surface, chair, equipment, and surrounding area between treatments according to facility policy.

RECORD KEEPING:

* Review treatment sheets for completeness, ensure nursing signatures are documented, and ensure
omitted entries are completed or corrected by appropriate staff.
* Prepare initial patient chart for admission and compile paperwork for appropriate placement in chart.
* Prepare/print lab requisitions for prescribed or stat Lab specimens according to laboratory destination.
* Collect, label, appropriately prepare and store lab samples according required laboratory specifications.

* Liaisons with appropriate FKC staff members to provide the best patient experience including making sure all disciplines are scheduled to see patient according to plan.

* Sets and preforms a treatment on all machines used in the transitional care unit.
* Assist in assuring patient understanding of treatment options including demonstration of the peritoneal dialysis set-up.

The Medical Support Specialist (Plasma Center Nurse) works under the guidance of the Center Manager (or Assistant Manager as applicable) for operational guidance and under the management of the Center Physician for medical issues. The Medical Support Specialist will be familiar with regulations of the plasma collection industry or a manufacturing environment. The Medical Support Specialist follows guidance provided by BioLife Medical Affairs and provides center level support of environmental, health and safety (EHS).
How you will contribute
You will determine donor eligibility; to include, proper management of informed consent, AIDS education and confidential self-exclusion, medical history interview and acceptance requirements, physical examination, blood testing, and reviewing Serological Protein Electrophoresis (SPE).
You will evaluate donor reaction(s), which occurs at the facility as outlined in the SOPs. Follow applicable SOPs for medical emergencies including the development of Center Physician's standing orders and donor transport to emergency care facilities.
You will refer to the Center Physician or Medical Affairs (as applicable) when in need of providing unacceptable findings to donors, or guidance concerning medical or technical issues, including donor safety and eligibility.
You will support the Hepatitis B and Seasonal Flu vaccination programs for employees as applicable.
You will manage employee incidents and determine whether further evaluation is required by occupational health/ER. Refer to EHS guidance regarding employee incidents.
You can be a Pandemic Coordinator when authorized by EHS and support investigations associated with pandemic threats within the local community as indicated by EHS or Medical Affairs.

Manipulates equipment and instruments to enhance the visual field
Suctions and sponges to maintain a dry surgical field resulting in an optimal visualization of the surgical field
Provides counter-traction of tissue utilizing various instruments
Assists with maintaining hemostasis to reduce potential for fluid volume deficits by clamping / ligating vessels, using electrocautery to tissue, applying manual direct pressure, assisting with use of pharmaceutical agents (e.g. topical thrombin) and other means as directed by the surgeon / physician
Ties and cuts sutures
Skillfully sutures all varieties of tissues / tissue planes with appropriate suture materials and suturing techniques. Assists in closure of wound or independently closes wound under the direction of the surgeon.
Assists and independently applies dressing and tape at the end of the surgical procedure using proper aseptic / sterile techniques
Maintains current knowledge of procedures performed

Responsibilities
Operating Room Nurses (OR RNs) care for patients before, during, and after surgery and assist the surgeon in procedures. The OR RN provides direct and individualized care to patients. OR RN job responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Prepare, administer, and record prescribed medications
Coordinate with medical team members to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care
