* Get patients ready for surgery by washing, shaving, and disinfecting incision sites.
* Transport patients to the operating room, help position them on the operating table, and cover them with sterile surgical "drapes."
* Observe patients' vital signs, check charts, and assist the surgical team with putting on sterile gowns and gloves.
* Pass instruments and other sterile supplies to surgeons and surgeon assistants.

Responsibilities
Assist in surgical procedures by providing first assist support to surgeons.
Participate in ongoing training and professional development opportunities.
Maintain a sterile environment and ensure all instruments are prepared.

* A surgical first assistant plays a vital role in a successful surgical procedure.
* They are primarily in charge of assisting surgeons, such as by arranging and handing over tools, holding open incisions, and dressing surgical wounds.
Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities:
* Cauterizing wounds and vessels
* Packing sponges in the body
* Positioning the patient to maintain circulation and access for the surgeon
* Placing clamps and sutures
* Closing skin with adhesives, sutures or staples, etc.
