Updates and maintains physician preference information cards. Performs clinical duties to include answering phones, taking messages, running errands, and pulling the following day's cases. TYPICAL WORKING CONDITIONS:** - Not substantially subjected to adverse environmental conditions. - Exposed to chemicals, body fluids, communicable diseases. - Required Personal Protective Equipment: Eye protection, gown, mask, mask with face shield, non-sterile/sterile medical gloves, CAPR. - Must be able to adjust schedule for "on-call" coverage involving, but not limited to, evenings, night, weekends and holidays. **IV. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:** A. EDUCATION/CERTIFICATION AND LICENSURE: - Completion of a certified Surgical Technologist, Operating Room Technician or comparable training program; or three (3) years experience as an OR Technician or Surgical Technologist in an acute care or outpatient setting. - Association of Surgical Technologists Certification preferred. - Current BLS certification. B. EXPERIENCE: - Experience to demonstrate: o Strong organizational and self-motivational skills. o Ability to deal with patients/visitors tactfully and courteously. o Ability to work and maintain composure under constantly changing situations with numerous interruptions.
