Clinical Support Technician II needed for Critical Care Unit (CCU). The CCU is an 18 bed unit that provides comprehensive medical and surgical care to the most medically fragile adults. This position is located at the Hillsborough Campus. UNC Health Care Hillsborough Campus is a community hospital which is an extension of UNC Medical Center focusing on many of our elective surgical programs. The 163‐bed facility combines a community hospital culture with the innovative procedures and care for which the UNC Medical Center is known. The Hillsborough Hospital is located at 460 Waterstone Drive, Hillsborough, NC and offers free parking to employees. Night shifts (7:00pm ‐ 7:30pm) with weekend and holiday rotation. This position requires the ability to attend a week long orientation (Monday through Friday) which is offered every two weeks. Summary: The Clinical Support Technician II is responsible for assisting the professional caregiver in the delivery of patient care, transporting patient and / or equipment, setting up and maintaining patient rooms, and performing a wide range of clerical, transcription, and maintenance of the patient care unit desk area functions. Provide direct personal care to patients as outlined in plan of care activities such as bathing, dressing, feeding, assisting with ambulation. Measure and record vital signs, and patient height and weight. May be responsible for specimen collection, skin preps/scrubs, catheter care, capillary blood glucose checks, simple wound care, range of motion exercises, and/or postural drainage. Performs Oxygen room set‐up and monitors oxygen flow‐rate, performs oropharyngeal and nasopharyngeal suctioning, tracheostomy care, fecal impaction removal, sterile dressing change wound irrigation, IV fluid assembly and monitoring, IV site care and discontinue peripheral IV, ostomy irrigation and care, urinary catheterization and irrigation, performs established oral, nasogastric, gastrostomy tube feeding 7. Reinforce routine teaching given to patients by the registered nurse or physician and document patient understanding of instructions. Forsyth County Department of Emergency Services is seeking dedicated and passionate first responder heroes to join our team as Advanced EMTs (AEMTs). AEMTs perform skilled work in providing prehospital medical care to sick or injured persons. The Advanced EMT is an intermediate EMS certification level recognized by the State of North Carolina between the Emergency Medical Technician and Paramedic level certifications. These positions fill an important care gap between the EMT Basic and Paramedic positions. AEMT is credentialed to provide prehospital medical care above that which an EMT can provide at the advanced level. This includes intubation, intraosseous and intravenous fluid/medication administration, administer intramuscular injections, and administer epinephrine during cardiac arrest. An employee in this class performs advanced lifesaving techniques assigned to the AEMT by the NC Office of Emergency Medical Services. Tact, courtesy, and firmness are required in dealing with sick or injured persons and with the general public. Work is performed according to established emergency medical procedures and techniques, but the employee must exercise considerable independent judgment in treating a patients symptoms and in providing basic and advanced patient care. The primary purpose of the paramedic is the response, assessment, triage, treatment, and transport of victims of accidents, injuries, medical emergencies; and other duties as assigned. This position requires that the employee must have proficiency in the entire continuum of medical, cardiac, and traumatic injuries for adult and pediatric to ensure that the department's services are provided on a 24 hour basis.
