Job Summary
The SurgicalTechnician - Certified works collaboratively with the surgical team to facilitate safe, effective, and high-quality patient care in the operating room. This role prepares and maintains the sterile field, anticipates surgical team needs, and ensures proper handling of surgical instruments and supplies. Essential Functions
* Prepares the operating room by ensuring surgical instruments, equipment, and supplies are properly set up and available based on the procedure and physician preference card.
* Maintains a sterile field throughout the surgical procedure, applying principles of Universal Precautions, asepsis, and sterile technique.
* Anticipates the needs of the surgeon, passing instruments and supplies accurately and efficiently during surgical procedures.
* Handles surgical instruments and equipment according to manufacturer instructions and hospital policy, including inspection, point-of-use cleaning, and sterilization.
* Performs and documents sponge, needle, and instrument counts in collaboration with the circulating nurse to support patient safety.

* Supports ongoing maintenance and accuracy of physician preference cards and procedural documentation.
* Restocks supplies, cleans and returns equipment to designated storage areas, and prepares rooms for subsequent cases to ensure OR efficiency.

Qualifications

Purpose of Position: The KnoxWorx Trainer is a full-time position dedicated to empowering program participants by developing skills and credentials through KnoxWorx's training initiatives. KnoxWorx focuses on serving individuals who have dropped out of high school and/or are justice-involved. This position is primarily focused on hands-on construction-related training in work-like environments.
Responsibilities & Organization:
General
Teach, coach, and mentor program participants.
Develop curriculum and ensure effective organizational practices.

Essential Functions
Deliver high-quality instruction and supervision to program participants in various training settings, covering job readiness, soft skills, industry-specific training, On-The-Job Training, and High School Equivalency (HiSet) education.
Conduct training across multiple KnoxWorx locations, including the KnoxWorx Training Center, classrooms, worksites, Knox County Detention Center (pre-release), and the Day Reporting Center.
Primarily focused on supporting construction training staff in leading hands-on training activities in work-like environments

-supporting the integration of construction learning with broader job-readiness training
Use a trauma-informed approach to teaching, recognizing how trauma affects learning and behavior, and adapting methods to support participants effectively.
Set and uphold behavioral expectations in classrooms and worksites, addressing issues as needed.
Provide daily mentoring and life coaching to program participants.
Monitor and document participant progress, assessing skill development throughout the program.
Teach in small classes, typically ranging from 8 to 16 participants.
Coordinate with KLF case managers and local service providers to connect participants with additional resources.
Work closely with case managers to share insights on students' strengths and areas for improvement, including participation in disciplinary and de-escalation meetings.
Collaborate as part of a team to integrate education, credential training, leadership development, and life skills into the program.
Use diverse materials, teaching techniques, and technology to enhance workplace skills such as critical thinking, problem-solving, and teamwork.
Attend all required staff meetings, retreats, and other assigned activities.
Assist the KLF team with participant re-engagement and follow-up efforts.
Perform other duties as assigned.

JOB SUMMARY:
To enforce policy and control procedures, to provide a safe and pleasurable environment for guests and employees. To provide care to the best of their abilities, within the scope of their training, and until such time it is no longer needed or until relieved by Cherokee EMS personnel. Responsible for safety patrols and immediately reporting unsafe conditions. Member of the Safety Team.
JOB ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Establish and endorse the business objectives, ethics, and values of Caesars Entertainment in accordance with the Code of Commitment and Mission, Vision and Values
Responsible for responding to emergency situations, providing first aid and/or basic lifesaving treatment to guests and employees when required, within limits of certification and arranging transport when necessary
Provide and maintain service standards to guests and employees as set by department SOP
Work closely with surveillance and security
Work closely with Cherokee Emergency Medical Services (EMS)
Patrol parking lot/garage and report unsafe conditions
Patrol all BOH, FOH areas and report unsafe conditions
Enter work orders for observable hazard repair
Responsible for filing reports on safety, OSHA, and any other incident of liability
Responsible for collection, logging, and destruction of found medications
Complete all required checklists for inventory and inspections of supplies and equipment
Notifies a risk management supervisor of any problems with equipment or low inventory
Conduct oneself professionally and in accordance with all property regulations
Responsible for inspections and proper storage of department EMS equipment (oxygen tanks, AEDs, etc.)
Disinfects and maintains cleanliness of EMS equipment, supplies and treatment areas per the daily assignments
Maintain an inventory of medical supplies used to ensure departmental medical supply needs are met
Check and replace full sharps containers located throughout the property
Recommend to guests/employees to seek medical treatment by a physician and/or medical facility if necessary
Will not recommend treatments or medications to guests or employees
Complete all duty-associated documents in a complete and timely manner
Demonstrate proficiency in report writing and thorough documentation of medical calls
Collect evidence, documentation, and information necessary for associated reports
Investigate and coordinate all fact-finding activities for employee injuries, customer injury or loss, and all property damage and loss incidents
Provide property leaders at all levels assistance to provide a safe and productive environment for associates
Active member of the safety team
Assist with red light, vehicle incidents with potential injury, domestic altercations and report suspicious activity
Complete employee drug tests when necessary
Assist with employee evaluation for suspected intoxicant
Responsible for Biohazard disposal (cards, dice, sharps)
Represent Harrah's Cherokee Casinos to external organizations, peers, and employees when necessary
Attend con-ed training through Tribal EMS each quarter or as needed
Required to have the ability to perform all the duties of an Emergency First Responder in addition to tasks that are assigned by the risk management leadership or EMS
Additional duties as assigned
Participative member of the team by volunteering and being involved in projects, committees, and task forces by providing input and suggestions
Proactive with incidents and issues ensuring resolution with employees or guests
Adhere to regulatory, departmental and company policies/procedures in an ethical manner
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
High school diploma or GED required
Valid driver's license required with no more than one (1) DUI convictions or 3 or more moving violations, 3 or more traffic citation convictions in the past 3 years (from date of conviction) or conviction for suspension or conviction for at fault accident within the last 3 years required
Certified as an EMT (or higher) through the state of North Carolina or National Registry required
Current CPR/AED certification required
Successful completion of the Security Basic Officer Course required*
Six months to one-year previous customer experience preferred
Three months previous experience as a First Responder, EMT or higher preferred
Six months to one year experience in insurance, loss control & safety or related field preferred
*Can be completed within six months of hire date
Must demonstrate the following essential knowledge and skills:
Must be able to read and comprehend all necessary documentation, training materials and SOP information
Must be able to communicate courteously, effectively, and professionally with guests and all levels of team members
Must be able to use tools and equipment such as radios, computers, and other equipment specific to the position
Complete knowledge of all emergency procedures
Excellent attendance in previous positions
Excellent communication skills
Knowledge of OSHA, EPA, fire code preferred
Willing to learn and be adaptable
Attention to detail/observant
Comfortable under surveillance
Able to wear a radio earphone
Handle bodily fluids and possibly hazardous situations
Neat, professional appearance with excellent personal hygiene
Maintain all required certifications, with no lapses in certification, for current level held
Maintain continuing education required for certification level held
PHYSICAL, MENTAL, AND ENVIRONMENTAL DEMANDS:
Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 pounds without assistance, 150 pounds with assistance
Must be able to be on feet/stand for extended periods of time
Must be able to stoop, bend, reach, kneel, twist and grasp items
Must be able to respond to visual and aural cues
Must be able to use an earpiece/headset and other communication methods
Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand English
Must be able to maneuver in all areas of the casino and hotel
Must be able to operate in mentally and physically stressful situations
Must be able to assist sick or injured guests or team members
Must be able to tolerate areas containing varying noise and temperature levels, illumination, vibration, crowds, and air quality including secondhand smoke
Must be able to work a flexible schedule including weekends, evenings, and holidays as needed
