We're hiring Emergency Medical Technicians (EMTs) that will respond to emergency and non-emergency requests for medical assistance and deliver high-quality care, treatment and customer service to patients.
Responsibilities:
EMTs provide an assessment of patients, determine necessary care and deliver emergency services by utilizing appropriate medical techniques and equipment.
Document patient information, condition and treatment while maintaining confidentiality and patient rights.
Take pride in providing a safe, clean, and well-stocked environment for patients.
Use appropriate EMT skills to provide care including communications, medical equipment, cleaning procedures, office equipment and tools.

WORKING CONDITIONS AND MENTAL/PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
Working Conditions: Available to work days, nights, weekends and holidays, extended workdays. Long periods inside the ambulance. May work indoors or outdoors with exposure to weather. Possible routine exposure to moderate noise levels. May periodically work in poorly lit environments in a moving vehicle.
Physical Demands: Moderate to extended amounts of sitting, standing, and walking. Some repetitive motion activities. Routinely lifting more than 200 lbs. with assistance. Pushing, pulling, reaching, lifting, bending, squatting, kneeling, twisting, carrying, typing and stair climbing. Visual identification of color-coded items. Clear speech and hearing. Must be able to wear a face mask or respirator with proper fit for extended periods when required.

Serve patients across the lifespan - neonatal through geriatric - in a fast‑paced surgical environment.
Minimum Qualifications

The Surgical Recovery Coordinator (SRC) I supports the mission, goals and strategic plan of Nevada Donor Network, Inc. (NDN) by providing clinical support to facilitate safe, efficient procurement of organs. The SRC I position has on-call responsibilities under the Manager of Surgical Recovery Services.
Specific duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Performs responsibilities of position and promotes teamwork and a professional working environment.
Takes 24-hour call to be available for activity associated with organ donation, remaining within a radius to assure that response to all calls occurs in a timely fashion.
Participates in clinical screening and evaluation to determine donor suitability as part of the Tripod team.
Participates in educational presentations.
Maintains confidentiality on all donor-related activities and internal issues.
Possesses basic knowledge of donor medical requirements and contraindications to recovery and transplantation.
Coordinates and communicates with transplant centers during kidney allocation.
Recovery blood/tissue specimens needed for tissue typing.
Serves as first assist to visiting and local surgeons.
Coordinates visiting transplant teams in the operating room with recovery and preservation of organs for transplantation and research.
Provides organ preservation maintaining flush amounts and medicinal additives.
Packages and labels the organ(s) procured.
Coordinates and/or facilitates the transportation of organs to the local transplant hospital and/or to the NDN Perfusion Lab Facility.
Procures, preserves, and allocates organ(s)/tissues for research following researcher criteria and procedures.
Coordinates and communicates with ancillary services regarding recovery activity and timeframes.
Maintain complete clinical records of donor recoveries to ensure quality.
Maintains possession and ensures routine maintenance for assigned organ department equipment and supplies.
Maintains an adequate inventory of all supplies and medications.
Operates kidney preservation machine efficiently, assess organ function based on providing organ viability feedback to transplant center clinical personnel to optimize organ preservation technique. Maintaining accurate record of kidney function and disposition.
Maintenance of the perfusion laboratory.
Maintains current knowledge of all NDN, AOPO, CMS and OPTN policies and procedures.
Performs other duties as requested by Manager of Surgical Services, Director of Organ, VP of Clinical Affairs and/or the NDN Medical Director.
Requirements
Education: Bachelor's degree, Surgical Tech, Scrub Technician or related field or applicable experience required
Experience: Minimum of 1-3 years' Surgical experience preferred.

Carries out medical/surgical asepsis during treatments/procedures

The Medical Support Specialist (Plasma Center Nurse) works under the guidance of the Center Manager (or Assistant Manager as applicable) for operational guidance and under the management of the Center Physician for medical issues. The Medical Support Specialist will be familiar with regulations of the plasma collection industry or a manufacturing environment. The Medical Support Specialist follows guidance provided by BioLife Medical Affairs and provides center level support of environmental, health and safety (EHS).
How you will contribute
You will determine donor eligibility; to include, proper management of informed consent, AIDS education and confidential self-exclusion, medical history interview and acceptance requirements, physical examination, blood testing, and reviewing Serological Protein Electrophoresis (SPE).
You will evaluate donor reaction(s), which occurs at the facility as outlined in the SOPs. Follow applicable SOPs for medical emergencies including the development of Center Physician's standing orders and donor transport to emergency care facilities.
You will refer to the Center Physician or Medical Affairs (as applicable) when in need of providing unacceptable findings to donors, or guidance concerning medical or technical issues, including donor safety and eligibility.
You will support the Hepatitis B and Seasonal Flu vaccination programs for employees as applicable.
You will manage employee incidents and determine whether further evaluation is required by occupational health/ER. Refer to EHS guidance regarding employee incidents.
You can be a Pandemic Coordinator when authorized by EHS and support investigations associated with pandemic threats within the local community as indicated by EHS or Medical Affairs.

About the role:

You will determine donor eligibility to donate plasma, management of donor adverse events, review of laboratory test results, and donor notification of unsuitable test results. The Medical Support Specialist (Plasma Center Nurse) works under the guidance of the Center Manager (or Assistant Manager as applicable) for operational guidance and under the management of the Center Physician for medical issues. The Medical Support Specialist will be familiar with regulations of the plasma collection industry or a manufacturing environment. The Medical Support Specialist follows guidance provided by BioLife Medical Affairs and provides center level support of environmental, health and safety (EHS).
How you will contribute
You will determine donor eligibility; to include, proper management of informed consent, AIDS education and confidential self-exclusion, medical history interview and acceptance requirements, physical examination, blood testing, and reviewing Serological Protein Electrophoresis (SPE).
You will evaluate donor reaction(s), which occurs at the facility as outlined in the SOPs. Follow applicable SOPs for medical emergencies including the development of Center Physician's standing orders and donor transport to emergency care facilities.
You will refer to the Center Physician or Medical Affairs (as applicable) when in need of providing unacceptable findings to donors, or guidance concerning medical or technical issues, including donor safety and eligibility.
You will support the Hepatitis B and Seasonal Flu vaccination programs for employees as applicable.
You will manage employee incidents and determine whether further evaluation is required by occupational health/ER. Refer to EHS guidance regarding employee incidents.
You can be a Pandemic Coordinator when authorized by EHS and support investigations associated with pandemic threats within the local community as indicated by EHS or Medical Affairs.
What you bring to Takeda:
High school diploma or equivalent to including graduate equivalent of a recognized educational nursing program with state requirements
Currently licensed or certified in the state where responsibilities will be assigned: EMT-Paramedic
Current Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) and AED certification
Fulfill state requirements (in state of licensure) for basic IV therapy
Satisfactorily complete the FDA approved training requirements for BioLife Medical Support Specialist
Two years in a clinical or hospital setting

What would you do as a First Assist?
You can expect to regularly:
Set up surgical instruments, supplies and equipment according to the procedure and surgeon preferences.
Prepare the surgical suite for operation, including supporting the surgeon with instruments and supplies, assist with positioning the patient for surgery properly and turning over the rooms after the patient returns to recovery.
Work with the surgeon to help as needed, including preparing surgical grafts, performing closure of incisions, and applying various wound dressings or splints.
Count sponges, needles and instruments before and after surgery.
Requirements
Certifications/Education
Active certification of Certified Surgical First Assist (CSFA) through the National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting;
Knowledge of:
Proper patient positioning and safety;
Surgical procedures and required equipment/instruments;
Experience:
Communicating professionally with all levels of staff and providers.
