QUALIFICATIONS Must be a U.S. citizen Must currently possess a valid U.S. driver's license and a valid U.S. tourist passport to be considered Must be 21 years of age or older Must have a minimum of three (3) years of verifiable pre-hospital emergency medical services experience at the AEMT or paramedic level. Experience must be a full-time primary duty. Work experience in a hospital or clinic setting does not satisfy this requirement. Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) Professional Rescuer certification or American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) Advanced Trauma Training credentials [i.e., International Life Support (ILS) or Pre-Hospital Trauma Life Support (PHTLS) or equivalent. Obtain and maintain (16 hour) Tactical Emergency Casualty Care (TECC) certification, or an equivalent trauma course. To meet this requirement the course must be Commission on Accreditation for Prehospital Continuing Education (CAPCE) accredited. Obtain and maintain a personnel security clearance as identified in the contract (DOS Secret level). Clearance can be obtained during the application process. Must attend and successfully complete required training.     The Shipyard EMT is responsible for providing immediate emergency medical care and support to personnel at a shipyard or maritime industrial facility. This role requires a proactive approach to workplace health and safety, with a strong emphasis on emergency preparedness, rapid response, and coordination with safety personnel. The EMT also assists in maintaining health and safety compliance and may perform limited occupational health duties. Key Responsibilities: Respond promptly to medical emergencies, accidents, and incidents across the shipyard. Perform basic and advanced first aid, CPR, and emergency medical procedures within the scope of EMT certification. Conduct medical assessments and triage to determine the severity of injuries or illnesses. Stabilize patients and coordinate transportation to external medical facilities when needed. Maintain accurate and confidential patient care reports and incident logs. Inspect and maintain medical supplies, first aid stations, and emergency equipment throughout the shipyard. CPR/AED certification (American Heart Association or equivalent). 1-2 years of EMT experience, preferably in industrial, construction, or maritime environments. Valid driver's license and clean driving record. Preferred: OSHA 10 or 30-Hour Maritime Certification. Experience working in a shipyard, port, or heavy industrial setting. Familiarity with OSHA, USCG, and other maritime safety regulations. Bilingual (English/Spanish or other languages) a plus. Physical Requirements: Ability to lift, carry, and move patients or equipment up to 50 lbs. Capable of working in physically demanding and high-stress environments. Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions and in confined spaces. Must be able to climb ladders, stairs, and work at heights or aboard vessels as needed. Work Schedule: Full-time; may include rotating shifts, weekends, holidays, and on-call availability as required by operations. Compensation: $22/HR to $27/HR DOE Benefits may include health insurance, retirement plan, paid time off, and training allowances.
