Assemble both sterile and non-sterile equipment, as well as adjust and check it to ensure it is working properly. Pass instruments and other sterile supplies to surgeons and surgeon assistants. Hold retractors, cut sutures, and help count sponges, needles, supplies, and instruments. Help prepare, care for, and dispose of specimens taken for laboratory analysis and help apply dressings. After an operation, help transfer patients to the recovery room and clean and restock the operating room. Maintain rapid and efficient operating room turnovers Ensure all surgical instruments and equipment are clean, sterile, and functioning properly. Assist in draping the patient and maintaining a sterile field throughout the surgery. Pass instruments, sponges, and other sterile supplies to surgeons and surgical staff during procedures. Assist with positioning patients on the operating table Assist team during medical emergencies Maintain a clean and safe working environment by following infection control protocols. Respond quickly to requests from surgical team members. Adhere to center policies, procedures, and safety standards.
